PAY Attention when you order Gen 1 Glock won't work!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 19, 2013
Optics planet did a great job of telling me and everyone else what gun this product fits and clearly telling buyers it was for glocks WITH RAILS.
In my stupidity and haste I was wrong and my Gen 1 Glock did not have the rails. Price was so good I sold it to a friend rather than return it. A good product with good value.
Pros: Great product, I have friends who love theirs
Cons: Would not fit on my Gen 1 Glock 17 without rails...

Great laser!

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on December 7, 2012
I bought this laser here some time ago, and I'm rather pleased with it. I don't recall what I paid for it, but I believe it was on sale or discounted or something. The normal price is steep in my opinion. With that said, I'm very pleased with the performance. It's very very bright, to the point that you can see the beam itself at night, which looks really cool. I've only taken it to the range once, but it performed very well. Some people apparently have issues with it cutting out while shooting, maybe I haven't shot enough with it, but I've had no problems so far. Battery life seems decent, and batteries are readily available and relatively inexpensive at walmart. Very easy to use, and the buttons are well placed and ambidextrous. It looks very cool on my Glock 19, matches the color of the frame very well, but it is a little bulky for a laser, and extends maybe a half inch past the bottom of the trigger guard. It's not much of a problem, but it does make finding a compatible holster a little difficult, as I haven't had a whole lot of luck, but I'm sure there's something out there. A little frustratingly, Viridian makes a nice tacloc holster for their universal lasers, but not for these, and these aren't compatible with them. Alternatively, there are plenty of reasonably priced custom holsters around that could be made to fit. Overall, very happy with the laser so far, and when it's not on the glock, it makes a great dog toy laser that doesn't break after the first 5 minutes o...

Veridian lasers are great. With the green laser you can see it in sunlight and at night it is much brighter than red lasers!

The Jury is still out

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 26, 2011
The GLK was easy to install on my Glock 19. The laser is very bright but if the temperature is below 55 degrees the performance deteriorates rapidly. It does not like the cold. Also I'm having problems with the switch. This seems to be the weak link in the unit.
Pros: Bright (when it works)
Cons: Not reliable and its temperature sensitive...

Viridian Green Laser for Glock 17

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 14, 2011
I received my Viridian Green Laser two days ago for my Glock 17. I took it out to the range today to get it zeroed in to the gun. I fired about 30 rounds and was enjoying the ease of shooting with the laser sight. Then it just stop working. Could not turn it on or off. At first I thought it was the battery and replaced it with a new one. No deal. Still could not get it to turn on. I removed sight from the gun. I found if I pointed the sight toward the ceiling the laser would come on but if I pointed it level the laser went off. Go figure. For the cost of this laser sight I would have thought that it would have been built better. Since it sits on the end of a gun that produces high G shock every time it fires. It looks like it can't operate in that environment.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Must be reliable ...

Company Great -- Product Lacking

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on May 28, 2010
As much as I liked both the product and the company, I couldn't keep the GLK working. Until failure, I bragged to everyone about how bright it was both inside and out. Viridian readily replaced it, even allowing me to upgrade to the X5L, but that also quit turning on. Both failures involved the failure to turn or, or after failing to turn off it would turn on briefly and then off on its own. Switch problems???

Viridian said my results were not common and agreed to a full refund.
Pros: Unbelievably bright, holds zero, company stands behind product
Cons: Didn't hold up, and GLK not sealed agains the elements like X5L....
