Very clear and sharp... just two tiny nit-picks

by TheGDog, from United States, CA Written on January 20, 2015
Mounted this on a Marlin 336 with a DNZ one-piece "Medium" height mount. If you get a scope with an eyepiece any bigger than this one, you'll want to order the "High" mount. I'm not sure which scope I think looks sharper and clearer... this or my Nikon 3-9x40 with the BDC I have on my Savage Trophy Hunter XP package. One thing that kind of surprises me is that this scope doesn't have a protruding tab on the ZOOM ring on the eyepiece. My Nikon does and it makes it super easy to dial-up the ZOOM. Not too big of a deal because I bought this for my .30-30 which I intend to use when the terrain is more dense and brushy anyway. With this scope on it's lowest power of 2... target acquisition is natural and instinctive if you keep both eyes open. And I have to say I like the reticle style on this one. The thickness of the crosshairs lines extends to within nice and close of the intersection point. After you screw-off the protective caps... the turrets can be adjusted easily with fingers....
Pros:
  • sharp and clear picture
  • like the reticle style
Cons:
  • no protruding tab on the ZOOM ring

Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 Rifle Scope - Great scope for the $$

by ShooterGreg, from United States, AR Written on January 8, 2015
I put this on my Ruger 10/22 and love it. It's lightweight and very bright. It is not of the same quality as the Diamondback or Viper but I am a huge fan of Vortex and highly recommend. The price is great and warranties from Vortex are top notch. The adjustment knobs don't click as well as the Diamondback or Viper so you have to pay attention when making windage and elevation adjustments to make sure it is just one click. It feels kinda plastic, well it is....
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Very clear
Cons:
  • click stops are not as pronounced as on the all metal Vortex scopes
Best Used for:
  • Rimfire target applications

Best in this price range

Great eye relief, sharp and clear. Solid and well constructed, feels like someone actually made it as opposed to machine crushed together. Optics better than some major name brands costing 2 or 3 times more...
Pros:
  • eye relief
  • Well-Made
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • general use

Clear and quality scope at a great price

by Steve T, from United States, IL Written on December 23, 2014
Vortex optics are earning a positive reputation for quality at a great price. This Crossfire II scope is clear and easy to use with great fit and finish. The matte black matches the receiver of my Ruger 1022 takedown and everything about the scope works very well....

Grreat scope!

by Bernardo Bestard, from United States, FL Written on December 20, 2014
The finish and looks of the scope are excellent. Clarity is exceptional. Vortex has gone beyond great bang for the buck. This scope is as good as the more expensive ones! I intend to use mine for hunting and three gun competition and just general shooting. Looking thru the scope you can clearly see how sharp your target and field of vision are. Definitely would recommend to a friend to purchase. This scope will not let you down....

Clear Glass Great Value

by Eric, from United States, WI Written on November 6, 2014
I bought this scope for a 300 blackout that would give me fast acquisition for hunting and still had some magnification for target shooting. I have not had a chance to take it shooting yet but I have mounted it to the rifle and could not believe how clear the glass was for a scope in this price range. I have no doubt it will be a shooter when I get a chance and to top it off Vortex's warranty is awesome!...

AR 15 optic

by inca, from United States, IA Written on September 2, 2014
Mounted on my AK an got poor results but on dads AR15 it works great, was thinking of getting a 2nd for a shorter barreled bolt gun. Every bit as clear as my nikon if not a little better, the crosshairs are a little thicker than i had hoped but its easy to get on target and BDC may be useful in hunting....
Pros:
  • Clear optics
Cons:
  • None.
Best Used for:
  • AR15 & compact hunting rifle

Mounted on Sig 522

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, GA Written on June 25, 2014
Mounted on my Sig 522 that I use to shoot smallbore silhouette (I like a challenge). Engaging rams at 207 yards with no problem. Scope is repeatable and holds it's settings very well. I recommend if you're looking for a good value in a scope. I will be getting another one for a rifle I'm about to purchase.
Pros: Good price. Good quality.
Cons: none for a scope in this price range...
