Vortex Crossfire 2. 4-12\40AO riflescope

by Bryan, from United States, PA Written on February 24, 2015
I orderd my scope last Tuesday via website...OpticsPlanet called me on Thursday mid day to inform me thee original 6-18 I ordered was out of stock. I was upset because the web site informed 10 were in stock. The sales associate was very helpful. I didn't want to wait for mid March for the new stock to arrive. I asked what was in stock in the Crossfire 2....he went through what they had and I decided on the 4-12. Since the scope is for my new 17 WSM rimfire I was happy with 4-12 power. After this I had a small problem with billing....my order was put on hold, however it was resolved within 2 hours. My scope was shipped out Friday and I received it Monday. I received it well packaged and fully intact. I opened it like X-Mas morning...I'm very Happy with the scope its well made and all they were said to be. Vortex make a great product...I woulgd compare to Leupold quality. I have not field tested yet but I'm 100% sure its going to function very well. The scope looks awesome on my Savage B-Mag. Overall very pleased with this Vortex scope!!!...

Vortex Does It Again

by Tom, from United States, OK Written on February 17, 2015
This is my third Vortex purchase, and again I'm impressed, again the value exceeds the price. For a 40mm objective lens, the light transmission and clarity of the target image is very good. The reticle image is crisp. The 1/4 moa adjustments on each turret are firm. Objective lens adjustments are a bit too firm, but this is much preferred over anything perceived to be loose, and this may very well improve a bit over time. I had just finished a 22 rifle build based on the Ruger 10-22, and this was what I decided I would mount on top. Once zero'd, holes in paper became increasingly tight as I went through the process of breaking-in the barrel. The icing on the cake is the service provided by Optics Planet....
Pros:
  • quality product for a fair pric
  • quality, warranty
  • Quality of optics
  • Quality, fit and finish
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Hunting/Bench rest

Good scope

by Ryan, from United States, IN Written on January 19, 2015
Was nervous about buying based on the original crossfire reputation. I have this mounted on a Savage FVSR, this works perfectly, clear sight picture and adjusted easily when I was sighting it in, I would buy another....

Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO Rifle Scope

by William Ferguson, from United States, WI Written on October 2, 2014
This scope has been one of my favorite in the last couple years. I have a number of Vortex optics and have had no problems with clarity or tracking. These are the best scopes in this price range and even better quality than most in a higher price range. As far as warranty you can't beet it even on a scope priced the way they are. I know that I am getting the best bang for my dollar when buying any Vortex optic.......
Pros:
  • Warranty
  • Custumer service
  • price and quality
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting with an AR or MSR type rifle, plinking, low light shooting, mid-range shooting
  • hunting, range shooting

vortex scope

by Wixom Bob, from United States, MI Written on August 29, 2014
A good value for the money. Would be a good scope for someone who is just starting out. The viper line is better but costs more. The so is a nice feature at this price point. Optics are clear have not tried the shots were you dial up,across, down, and back to see if it holds true....

Great Value - Great Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, FL Written on March 15, 2014
I waited 32 years to replace the scope on my Remington 700 Classic. I'm glad I wait. The Crossfire ll has proved to be a great scope for the money. I'm not rich and live on a fixed income. So, I have to watch how I spend money. The Vortex is a fantastic scope for the money. It ranks up there with the $1000 plus optics. Clear as a bell and precise adjustments. It's great....

Serves its purpose exceptionally well.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on May 27, 2013
This is an excellent scope for the money. However I only use it on a rimfire, so I have no idea how it would function on a high powered centerfire rifle. The AO feature eliminates parallax from about 15 yards to infinity. It is lightweight, with clear optics. Using this scope mounted on an accurized 10/22, I harvested five rabbits, ranging from 25-70 yards, all with head shots. I am in the process of buying my second scope for another .22.
Pros: clear optics - easy consistent adjustments
Cons: None...
