twice as nice

by azhunter, from United States, AZ Written on November 19, 2014
What can I say this is the second one I have ordered from Optics Planet in the past six weeks. I have one more rifle to outfit and that will be my third one. I have mounted the first one on my 7 mm mag that has in the past abused other scopes and it has performed flawlessly. This one is now on my granddaughter's 25-06 and obviously brought her accuracy up to another level. All in all I am very impressed with this scope....
Pros:
  • Best warranty in the business
  • best price for the quality
  • clearity
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting, range shooting
Would recommend: Yes

Hands down the best bang for your buck.

by azhunter, from United States, AZ Written on October 19, 2014
I will be up front I do not have a large bank account to spend on my shooting habit. That is why I purchased this scope. I have brutalized more than one scope on my 7mm mag and the Vortex is been the only on I have that has held up.This will be the beginning of more Vortex scopes in the future for me- as I can afford them....
Pros:
  • Warranty
  • Price point
  • duribility
  • Clarity is great
Cons:
  • None yet!
Best Used for:
  • Long range target, hunting & varminting

Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 AO Rifle Scope, V-Brite Reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WI Written on April 3, 2014
About the only things I wish it had were a couple more strata lines and the side focus for the AO. Only thing is I know it would put theis scope much higher and at the present price it is a steal.
Pros: Very clear, able to see the V-Brite in bright light
Cons: Wish there were a couple more strata lines...

V Brite Dot Distorted At Full Power

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 21, 2013
At full power the illuminated dot is no longer round, it turns in to a distorted shape that really cannot be used for holding on a target. I don't know if I got a bad one or if they all are like that but since the other reviews don't mention any problems with the V Brite reticle,I may have gotten a bad one. I have a 3x9 with V Brite and it works fine.
Pros: Great scope fpr the money
Cons: Has distorted dot at full power, do not know if defective or if all are like that....

not worth the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, KY Written on October 28, 2013
I just wanted to let everyone know after last review that they sent it back to me and said they couldn't find a problem. So I remounted, shot some more and the same exact thing happened-It WILL NOT HOLD A ZERO. Sent it back a second time and they said they would have their scope expert look at it this time. So he actually mounted it on a gun to check for problems. After two weeks I got a call back and he said it would not hold a zero for him either. Customer service told me our gun was too much gun for their scope. If a .308 is too much gun for your scope then you shouldn't be producing them. Plus it makes me wonder if they even checked it out the first time. All they told me they did was reset the parallax and shipped it back to me because they couldn't find a problem with it. The one good thing is that they are refunding my money after I refused to upgrade and pay the difference for a more expensive model.
Pros: cheap
Cons: everything else...

Great Scope for the Money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on September 7, 2013
I bought this scope to use on a 22-250 that is a half MOA rifle. It is great. The optics are far better than I had expected on a scope in this price range. I am very pleased with Vortex.
Pros: Great optical clarity; BDC reticle
Cons: None...

save for a better scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, KY Written on August 26, 2013
Bought at a local gun store b/c I wanted to look thru one myself before trusting other reviews. Glass is bright and zoom is high for a cheap priced scope and that's about it. Mounted on a Burris quick detach PEPR on top of my FNAR to replace a lower powered Leupold but every few shots u have to rezero. Called Vortex and they tried saying it was me even though the leupold I had on it held perfect zero, after mentioning that they said they would email me a prepaid shipping label to send it back so they could look at it, that has been over a week ago, very dissatisfied not only with the product but with the customer service. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR A BETTER SCOPE U GET WHAT U PAY FOR
Pros: high magnification
Cons: wont hold zero...

The Best $200 Long Range 6-18x44 AO Riflescope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IN Written on August 21, 2013
I purchased the Crossfire II 6-18 x 44 Adj. Obj. with the Drop Dead BDC reticle for purposes of target shooting with a 20 gauge bolt-action shotgun (read: stout recoil) at a fixed distance of 40 yards. THE GOOD: Superb picture clarity (especially at this price point!; as good as Leupold VX-II picture quality); little to no edge image distortion, colors through the lenses are true; verified eye relief claims (3.7" at 18X; 4.3" at 6X); knurling on windage & elevation caps provides a good grip; adjustable objective adjusts within 5 yards of the actual parallex adjustment marking on the scope body; parallex CAN adjust to 10 yards (verified); fast focus eyepiece works well in tandem with Adj. Obj.; included sunshade is nice and fits acceptably; turret zero reset feature works as advertised (need a fat, flat blade screwdriver tip; a quarter does not work well); 100 "magnum" 3-inch 20GA shotshells later and zero has held; magnification numbers and parallex numbers are large and easy for the shooter to read; I have noticed zero "twisting" of the wire reticle so far (this was a claimed issue with the original Crossfire scopes); Dead-Hold BDC reticle subtensions are as advertised at 100 yards; 50+ MOA adjustment or elevation and windage (not bad for 1-inch tube body). THE "BAD": Turret adjustments for windage and elevation were accurate but not a positive "click" that I prefer; switching direction on windage and elevation adjustments revealed a slight amount of "slop" in the turret adj...
