First mount

by Vincent Chew, from United States, CA Written on October 21, 2014
I purchased this mount for my vortex PTS and I just love it. Easy to use and attach and it is light and sturdy. The mount screws are accessible to tightened the mount to the rail. I have not attached the scope, but watching video fro vortex it explains a lot of the process. Will update this review when done. Plus built in America....

Vortex ADR is awesome

by Jesse Tischauser, from United States, OK Written on October 14, 2014
This is my 3rd or 4th Vortex ADR mount. The vortex mount is mount is a rebranded American Defense AD-Recon mount. So it's American Made Quality not some Chinese knock off trash. I switch over to the ADR mounts after a few years of using LaRue mounts. The LaRue QD mechanism swivels and gets increasingly tighter as it swivels pinching the pic rail of the upper receiver. If you remove and replace the LaRue a lot it will eventually damage your upper receiver. The Vortex/American Defense mounts have a spring loaded side-to-side clamping QD device and it will not wear your receiver.

Great solid, good looking mount. Easy to install. Buy with confidence....
Pros:
  • quick release base
  • easy installation
  • quality product
  • American made.
  • Extended eye relief
  • Appealing appearance
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • plinking
  • AR15 & compact hunting rifle
  • Military
  • Competition Shooting
  • Law Enforcment
  • AR Picatinny Tops

This is an American Defense Mount with a Vortex sticker on it

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, KY Written on April 11, 2014
I ordered this mount because I have a Vortex scope. I was looking into quick release mounts and I thought since I had a Vortex scope, I would spend a little extra money to buy a Vortex mount and keep everything the same. When I got the mount in the mail, it is a good mount, BUT this is an American Defense mount. Don't get me wrong, American Defense is top notch, but I think it's a little misleading to say this is a Vortex mount, because it's not. This is an American Defense mount with a Vortex sticker on it. I guess they must buy the mounts, put their sticker on it, and then mark it up $20-30. If I knew that, I would have bought from American Defense directly and save the $20-30. Hope this helps.
Pros: Very good and durable mount
Cons: It's a little misleading...

Vortex Optics ADR Cantilever Mount w/2in Offset

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WV Written on July 15, 2013
The Vortex ADR cantilever mount is as rock solid as described. The fit and finish is outstanding. The rail adjustment is easy to perform because it is indexed by rotating a hex head fastener and seating it back into a hex depression machined in the base. It is easy to get equal tension on the rail this way. The smaller locking levers inside the larger levers are a good safety feature which prevents accidental releasing of the mount from the rail. This mount is a convenience to use when going from a reflex sight to a traditional scope.
Pros: Works exactly as described.
Cons: Pricey....

Awesome mount for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on September 26, 2012
At first I thought it was going to be a cheaper made scope mount but it compares to the other high end 2-300$ mounts I have. It is a great bang for the buck scope mount for my vortex PST scope.
Pros: Works great easy to use
Cons: none...
