Vortex Bubble BL30

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on May 16, 2014
I put this on my SWFA 12X and it looks great! Feels very robust, and the quality is there. Compared to the US Optics rail mounted option, this Vortex bubble is a good alternative. For the price of one US Optics, I'm able to buy two of these Vortex bubbles. Highly recommended. I will be purchasing a 2nd for my other scope.
Pros: Good quality build, price point, and tacticool!
Cons: none so far...

Good bubble level at a great price

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WI Written on January 13, 2014
This is a great level at a fantastic price. Easy to install and slim enough not to interfere with the adjustment range of mounting your scope. I will add one of these to all of my long range hunting rifles.
Pros: Price, Durable, Easy to install
Cons: No adjustment on bubble tube...

Better than average value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TX Written on November 19, 2013
The product is a bit pricey. However, it is durable and it finds a good balance between sensitivity and usability. It's also easily visible and can be viewed while in shooting position simply by opening the unscoped eye.
Pros: Price Point, Focus Ability
Cons: None for the money paid...

Good Level at a great price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WI Written on October 21, 2013
This is a great level that is available in the larger sizes for 30 and 35mm scopes, it is a nice simple robust design that gives you better line of sight to the bubble with your non dominant eye than a bubble that is on a scope cap or on top of the scope in an add on level. Great value for what you get, the only improvement i could ask for is a fine adjustment of the level tube once it is clamped on, but that would surely raise the price of the unit.
Pros: Cost, well made, works great, not large or cumbersome on the scope
Cons: no micro adjustment for the level itself like on the hollands scope level...

Best for the price!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on May 5, 2013
For the price, this is as good as it gets. The bubble is well done in that it will look centered if you look with the left or right eye while the other eye is looking in the scope.

The only thing that bothered me are the hard edges. While fine for a bench rig, it can dig into your skin on a hunt while carrying it slinged.
Pros: Price, quality, usability.
Cons: Hard Edges...

A "level" should be level

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MD Written on April 30, 2013
This chunky little guy needs to go on a diet; it needs to be mounted in front of the scope adjustment dials or you won't be able to see them from a shooting position. The workmanship is not what I would expect from Vortex, the two pieces don't line up. The paint on one piece is shinier than the other half - and both pieces are too shiny to be considered "tactical". When I placed the "level" on a level surface the bubble was off to one side! So if you were to put this on your scope and then place a level on the flat on the top of the ring the two levels wouldn't match. The other annoyance is that I have to lift my head to see the bubble - which moves the gun, oh well. One other negative is that it's difficult to see the alignment lines on the glass that should bracket the bubble in the middle; a single, bold white line circumscribing the center of the glass tube and bisecting the bubble would be better. I guess you actually have to try to use the product before you figure this stuff out (hint to Vortex engineers).

I purchased a B-Square for less than half the price, it attaches directly to the top rail underneath the scope (very compact), it's got a bold white line at the bottom in the middle where the bubble should be, and I can see it without lifting my head; simple. For the price I'll purchase a spare.
Pros: Does what it's supposed to, kinda
Cons: Bulky, clunky, can't be seen without raising your head....
