Nice scope for the money

I recently was in the market for a new scope for a project rifle I was building. This is a "budget build" so I wanted a decent scope without spending a lot of money. I checked several of the message boards I frequent and found several people were recommending the Vortex scopes so I decided to try one for myself. When I received my scope I was surprised at just how clear the optics were. I would say that in my opinion they were as clear or clearer than many scopes I have used that cost twice as much or more. The gun I am using this scope on is a 338-06 and my typical load is a 225gr Hornady SST at 2700fps which is not a cannon but does kick more than your typical deer rifle so recoil was a concern. I hate to spend good money on a scope only to find out it can't hold up to the recoil. I have put approximately 200 rounds through this rifle since I put the Vortex scope on it and so far it has held up very well. While this is obviously not a premium scope I think it is an excellent product at this price. I also have one of the new Redfields and think the Vortex is a much better scope. I did find that a slightly higher than normal scope ring is necessary with this scope. I had Talley combo rings/bases on my rifle and found that this put the Vortex uncomfortable close to the action even though they were sized for up to a 44mm Objective. EXCELLENT SCOPE FOR THE MONEY. COMPARABLE TO NIKON PROSTAFF FOR LESS
Pros: excellent warranty, crystal clear and durable
Cons: a little slow coming from the manufacturer...
