Great scope

by Big Wally, from United States, LA Written on September 29, 2014
Installed the scope, bore sighted it, took it to the range, took 3 rounds to-sight it in. The put 3 rnds in 2" at 100 yds barrel started to heat up, group went to 4", no problem. Back home in 1 hour. Time to go hunting.
Great scope, pulls in a lot of light, can't wait to see how it works in the dark woods...

Excellent scope

by fred, from United States, WA Written on July 23, 2014
Mounted on Savage Model 116 .270 Win. Have shot roughly 700 rounds through this gun in a little more than 2.5 years. 2 of those years were with this scope. Having hunted from dark to dark I have to say this is a great scope and for the price range or even up to scopes just shy of $500, you'd be hard press to find another scope that is as clear and holds accuracy as well as this one. I'm constantly adjusting it between my 140 grain deer round and my 90 grain coyote round, so I have the adjustment written down. I've gotten to the point of just clicking the scope over and going hunting know that it will be zero'ed for that round. Yes I've confirmed it on several occasions to make sure that I wasn't just getting lucky. The holds on top power are pretty much dead on for the loads I run, and if you take the time you can calc the yardage for holds at the other zoom powers as well. Excellent product and excellent company. Enough so that I recently bought a Viper HSLR for my new Kimber .308. Can't wait to get my reload dialed in on that one....

Great scopes

For the money at this price point, the Vortex line of scopes is difficult to beat. Great clarity and easy to set up. I was a Nikon fan in this price range for a long time but no more. Was not happy with Redfield either. All of my new rifles now are carrying Vortex scope because they are putting out such great products which work well in the field for hunting.
Easy to set up
Easy to zero
Maintains zero....

Great Scope

Great scope for the money. Looked at Nikon, Leupold, the normal names for my 25-06. Settled on this one mainly because I have 2 other Vortex scopes and they've been great. Hard to find a better deal.
Pros: Clear glass, great price...

I would't take this review to heart all the way this is my first scope I have bought, I am x-military tho, This scope has great eye relief, lets a lot of light in and just seems better vision than the naked eye. the adjusters are very smooth. All around a great scope for the money.
Pros: Lets A lot of light in
Cons: so far none...

I have had this Vortex scope mounted on a Remington 700 LA in .30-06. I used the DNZ Game Reaper mount also purchased from Optics Planet to create a rock solid platform. Anything stronger would require welding IMHO.

I feel this is the Best Hunting scope for the money. As a matter of my opinion you could easily spend double and gain no benefits. The Vortex Diamondback is very light with ample eye relief and the clarity of the optics is amazing. It is simple, I do not feel like I have to carry a manual with me to operate it. The scope has a clear, bright picture; perfect for dusk or dawn hunting. The Diamondback has also taken a beating from the light weight rifle chambered in .30-06, no loss of zero or loose parts.

A quality rifle scope, for this little money and a lifetime warranty? What is not to love?
Pros: Clear, Light, Simple, Rugged and Price/Value
Cons: Didn't get my free hat.(Like I need another damn hat anyway)...
