I purchased the Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 BDC to replace the Bushnell Legend that was mounted on a 30-06. The Vortex has better optics and wider field of view. The adjustment dials feel solid and positive. The BDC reticle, in my opion, is easier to use in hunting situation than mil-dot. Overall I am satisfied with the quality and features of the Vortex plus the outstanding warranty. Just wish it has a little longer eye relief.

I own two Vortex scopes. A 6.5 - 18 30 mm tube and the Diamondback 4-12 in the 1"tube. The optics are bright and clear from the center of the lense out to the edge. Windage, elevation and power adjustment are crisp. I have not had any problem s with returing to previous settings. A negative with the 4-12 Diamondback is limited intenral adjustment. With medium height rings on a Ruger #1 I could not get the elevation dialed in to the center of the target at 100 yards. At it's lowest setting it was still 3" high.
