Just what I needed at a great price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on May 5, 2011
I bought this for an AR coyote rifle and it fits the bill nicely. I wanted a scope in this size and magnification range for quick acquisition of fast moving targets plus a bit of magnification for medium range shots that wasn't overly pricey since I Dura-coated it to match the rifles paint job. It just isn't a procedure I feel comfortable doing on a higher priced scope since it truly has potential of knocking resale value down substantially. Anyways, clarity, size and magnification & lifetime warranty all make this scope a great value and if I have to at a negative it is the fact that for the size it is a tad heavy. I was very impressed with it's light gathering ability since it is only a 32mm obj. scope and it was obviously brighter in low light than my buddy's 3-9x 40 Monarch was. All in all I am very happy with this scope.Too bad they are discontinuing it.
Pros: Price, clarity, size and magnification & lifetime warranty
Cons: A little heavy....

Vortex Viper 2-7x32

I installed on Browing 22Mag t-bolt,it was eactly the scope I was looking for at the right price. The wide field of view at 2x or ; 7x for shots at 75 to 100yds makes this scope ideal for varmits. I have been shooting for years and this is now my choice rifle.
Pros: Great for Varmints, fits profile of rifle, easy to sight in
Cons: none...

viper 2-7x32

Best value in a rifle scope. Is it a Zeiss or Swaro NO but for the price you can not beat it. Unless you have perfect vision or have been brain washed you will not tell much if any difference in scopes costing 5x as much (IMHO). This scope is a steal at current prices.
Pros: Value
Cons: Weight...

Great Value!

Finger click adjustments, smooth power ring and good low light resolution. What's not to like? This scope is much better (to my eyes) than my father's VariX-II, with a much lower price. Vortex is an American company but this scope is made in the Phillipines if that makes a difference to anyone.
Pros: Price

Lots of unadvertised features

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on September 30, 2010
The Vortex Viper BDC scope packs a lot of unadvertised features into a great package. The turrets are resetable, meaning once you are dialed in you can "zero" them and adjust as needed for windage, elevation on long range shots. The BDC reticla is part mil-dot / part MOA and has meaningful windage marks and range marks that work out pretty well regardless of caliber. The clarity is pretty good, my only complaint was the vertical crosshair is just of off center on the etched glass reticle. But the clicks seem precise. The scope is only been through one range session but the logic behind the layout is sound and I look forward to more evaluations.
Pros: Features, Clarity.
Cons: Etched reticle slightly off center for the verticle line....

A great mid power scope for the $$$

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on September 12, 2010
This is a great scope for anyone looking for a compact lightweight rifle scope. Its a great size for people looking for more power than a 1-4 on their AR. Unlike 3-9 and 2.5-10 scopes it doesn't dominate the rifle. The reticle is a little thick but very usable and easy to pick up. I have no trouble using this scope from 0-200 yards. The optics are clear and let in plenty of light. Mine tracks well and doesn't experience a noticeable POI shift across the power range. My AR wears one in a Larue LT-104 and I have no regrets. Its a fantastic piece of glass for the money.
Pros: Reticle, Price, Size, Weight, Clarity
Cons: No parallax adjustment, ...
