Vortex for M4

by Dcraig, from United States, NC Written on September 11, 2014
I have the vortex SPARK and don't know why but I wanted a different dot - I am very pleased with the SPARK and strike fire both are great. Can't say enough good about Vortex products but the prism is not for everyone - I got the x1 spit first and was not happy so I decided to go on up to the x3 spit.... I do like the reticle and everything except the red/green illumination. With the spit x1 I had to return because the 2 ring was way too thick and masked targets. With this spit x3 I just did not care at all for the needed eye alignment much like a scope where you lose glass when not exact on center and distance, which is just not the whole idea of fast shooting with dots. So unfortunately I'm returning the x3 and going back with the SPARK II - again I want to stress that Vortex is awesome and planet optics has been #1 to do business with - the spit is super quality but for me I think I will stick with the SPARK and H1 size....
Pros:
  • Quality, clarity and price
Cons:
  • Red/green distorts prism
  • Eye alignment needed like a scope

Vortex Spitfire 3x Prism Scope

by Chris, from United States, NM Written on August 29, 2014
I have mine mounted on a 14” (civilianized) M-4, since I wanted a light-weight optic for fast target acquisition while keeping the complete system down to about 7 lbs. Sighted at 25 meters, it has no trouble hitting targets at 250 meters. This is a very good optic without having to spend for a Trijicon....

Specs, pics and video says it all

by CH66, from United States, TN Written on July 31, 2014
I have been hesitant to pull the trigger on a dot scope till I saw this one.
Specs, pictures and video on the website said it all for me, then throw in the warranty. Red or green choice is excellent, scope put me in very nice tight group....

Spitire 3x

by azCPL, from United States, AZ Written on July 30, 2014
This is an amazingly durable product. I've been holding off on getting a prism scope for a long time out of general distrust, from my experience w/the ACOG on deployments, and price. Changing platforms and building a gun that's easier to move with has pushed me towards a lighter option than the traditional scope. I know there are lower priced optics out there that have better, more detailed reticles, but the final sale for me was the UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY. When a company has that much faith in their product, it's not something one can easily turn down. when it comes to shooting, the Spitfire is second to none. I am much happier to use this than I ever was using my ACOG. It holds a zero, the clarity is amazing and its MOA is true to the specs given. I would gladly recommend this to anyone in the market for an amaxing tactical optic at an unbeatable price....
Pros:
  • Durability
  • Clarity
  • Lightweight
  • accuracy
  • unconditional lifetime warranty
  • long battery life
Cons:
  • no lead spotting
Best Used for:
  • tactical mid range shooting
