Super clear glass, very well built. Would definitely buy another one and would recommend this scope to any one looking for a good riflescope at a good price. As of right now I can't find anything bad and the 4" sunshade include a plus....
Pros:
  • Soild construction
  • Clear glass at long range
Cons:
  • none... yet

Right @ the Crossharis of value and performance

by Papertiger308, from United States, TX Written on February 9, 2015
The Viper PST gets you the performance you want, at a very reasonable price. Choosing glass is as important as choosing your rifle, and this scope will meet all expectations. Glass is very clear, and comparable to Leupold and Zeiss in the same price point (as if you'd buy something else)! The bonus here is you get great features like a sunshade, illuminated reticle, and quick moving zero stop tactical turrets. The illuminated reticle will out perform any other manufacturer for the $$. Again, you can't compare to scopes 2X the price, but in the $500-700 range this can't be beat.
Have taken to the range 3X, and was able to sight in, reset my zero, and even got to play in low light to test the illumination. Fast focus eyepiece is simple to use, and the ability to range targets is made easy. Dialed in @ 200 yds and have been able to accurately range anything I can see so far. Would recommend to friends and family, and thats a strong compliment. Can't wait to use in my next tactical training session....
Pros:
  • Illuminated reticle
  • Turrets
  • moa or mils
  • fast focus
  • resettable zero
Cons:
  • magnification ring adjusts slowly
Best Used for:
  • Tactical training/operations
  • Target/Varmint

Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44 MOA

by Stressfire, from United States, WA Written on January 26, 2015
This is an extremely high quality optic and provide perhaps the most bang for your buck of any scope available. I have several Vortex scopes and all of them have performed superbly. The glass quality and clarity is as good or nearly so as compared to other scope that cost 2-4 times more. Vortex's warranty is superb and Optics Planet's customer service is excellent....

Excellent Optic for the Budget Minded Shooter

by ZomgFaceRoll, from United States, RI Written on December 25, 2014
After reading everywhere that you MUST have a FFP scope I decided to give the Vortex 2.5-10x44 a shot anyway. Boy am I glad I did. I can't really tell why I'd need FFP for a scope in this magnification range. That math is easy, the optic is clear and the reticle crisp. I have no issues with the brightness level even in bright day light. The scope seems very robust and the turrets are great. My ONLY gripe and it's a small one is that the magnification ring is VERY tight. And no I didn't over tighten the rings, even unmounted this thing was tight. I will be ordering the switch lever to make operation easier. Love the scope! Another great Vortex product!...
Pros:
  • value
  • Quality
  • features
Cons:
  • Stiff Magnification Ring

Satisfied customer!

by Fabricator, from United States, GA Written on December 19, 2014
This is my 4th Vortex optic; I feel that the Vortex product represents an excellent value. I appreciate the great glass (for the price point) and the practical reticle options; coupled with a zero stop turret and the positive turret clicks, and it is an even better choice. This particular optic was purchased for a 5.56mm varmint rifle I built for my wife; she is quite pleased....

Great scope for the money!

by Gtravis, from United States, MO Written on October 7, 2014
Very pleased with the scope. Probably cannot get a better scope for the money. Vortex makes a great product. Ordered it with the Switchview throw lever which was a very nice add-on. Very fast shipping too....

Great Scope!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 31, 2014
Great scope for the money. It is built like a tank, and the turrets function flawlessly. I wish the reticle was brighter in the daytime, but it is not really necessary unless you are looking into a shadowed area. The glass is acceptable for the price.
Pros: Solid and economical
Cons: Reticle could be brighter...

Viper review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on February 25, 2013
Love it, would like to see the reticle illumination brighter on highest setting, and the reticle thickness is very small, will be great for long range shooting, but difficult to see for shorter range. The zero stop is awesome and the best for the cost.
Pros: zero stop, cost, quality
Cons: daytime illumination, reticle thickness...

Great Budget scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MD Written on December 30, 2012
Great scope for the price. It's nice to have matching mil/mil turrets and reticle. Turrets are solid and the markings are clear and very usable. Glass is average when it comes to good scope but acceptable for the price point.
Pros: Mil turrets, price, markings
Cons: Glass is average but acceptable...

Work horse

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on October 3, 2012
Shooting a precision weapon with clear optics is my job and this is a beast of scope. After zeroing it at 100yds, I walked it out all the way to 700yds making first round hits. I will be buying another in the future as a gift. Can't go wrong with Vortex!!!
Pros: Clarity of glass, easy of use, durability
Cons: No side focus...
