Better than my friend's Swarovski

by SuperGBoulder, from United States, CO Written on November 5, 2014
Used this scope and swapped it out for a Swarovski with the same magnification and objective lens. The Vortex was easier to use, brighter in dim conditions, and almost a third of the price. Awesome. One of the handy things about the scope is that you can zero in at 100 yards, easily use MILS to ratchet up to farther yardage and then instantly dial back down to 100 with a set zero point....

Excellent Price

If your looking at going First focal plane in a high quality scope this is the ticket. Excellent clarity and controls. They have hit the sweet spot in price point. Compare it to other high end scopes and you will see how good of a deal this scope is. The nest jump up is their Razor line which is even a little better....

Just got the scope

by snap27, from United States, CA Written on September 7, 2014
This scope is loaded with features at a reasonable price. Sure there are other high priced scopes that may be better, but this is quality scope in this price range loaded with features that function. Lighted reticle works great in low light conditions and the turret adjustments are repeatable. I have no hesitation making elevation adjusts with zero at 200 meters, dialing in for 800 meters and then back to a 200 meters. I plan to buy more Vortex products....

First class...First plane

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, KS Written on April 9, 2014
If you've not treated yourself to the precision VIP guaranteed Vortex Optics line, then your overdue. High definition glass, repeatable-tactile turret with with customizable return to zero feature , and illuminated, FFP, glass etched reticle with MOA or MRAD sub-tensions that match the movement of the turrets, all brought into focus with a left side parallax adjustment knob. This entire VIPER PST lineup has to be one of the biggest values in reliable, heavy duty, tactical optics! Absolutely recommended.... Unconditionally guaranteed!!!
Pros: Bright, clear, illuminated, side focus, first focal plane, 1pc, 30mm...

Have and Love the Monarch X but upgraded for Mil adjustment turrets. Right up on the high power setting the Monarch X has the clarity. I had also read some bad reviews reguarding build quality but I havent found a thing wrong.
Pros: Fantastic Price, Mil on Mil, Reticle
Cons: Glass Not as clear as Nikon Monarch X...

Might have gone with the Second Focal Plane.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on May 11, 2013
This is my first scope. I really like the FFP concept but after use, I can definitely see that there is a disadvantage when you zoom in with the subtensions zooming in as well. I can see having a second focal plane might be more precise for a long range shot. I do like the ability to be able to calculate range at any zoom level on the FFP though. Overall, I am very happy with it....

Go with Vortex

After searching for a rifle scope that would meet my demands I ended up getting the Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 and I could not be happier. I would put this scope against Nightforce all day and it's half the price. AMAZING scope...

This scope is rugged and the glass is excellent! Just under a Nightforce or Leupold but for the money, it can't be beat! I've always been faithfull to Leupold but this is my second leupold.
Pros: I would rate this scope at six stars for the money
Cons: none...

Bad Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AL Written on November 17, 2012
I bought a Vortes Viper PST scope and its the worst scope I have ever had. The scope when I bought it was not clear and clarity very poor. Took back to store I bought at and they sent it off to Vortex. They worked on scope and re-gassed it. Remounted and went to range today to resight in and scope is just as bad or worse than when I sent off. DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS SCOPE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: None
Cons: Poor Quality Scope...
