Best scope for the $

by Blake, from United States, WA Written on April 2, 2015
I have several hours of research that ultimately led to the purchase of this rifle scope. I previously exclusively owned Trijicon products but was becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of money I was spending. It didn't take me long to realize there were other great scopes on the market for less money, in my personal opinion. As soon as I researched Vortex, and found this really nice product, I purchased it. I am impressed with the glass, the illumination function, and the etched reticle, for example. Most of all, I feel I got a lot of features for the amount I spent. Already purchased another Vortex product and would consider buying more....
Pros:
  • Good glass, good clarity, Good reticle, parallax adjustable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • anything you would use a rifle for

Nice optic

by OP51, from United States, CA Written on February 23, 2015
Great scope for the money! Holds zero, tracks well, and is clear throughout the magnification range. Mounted to an LR-308 shot junk ammo to get a half way decent zero, then loaded up some Hornady. I was able to zero at 100 yards and dial my calculated dope for a first round hit at 850 yards on an 8'' gong!...
Pros:
  • Cost efective FFP scope
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Tactical shooting

Great Scope for the Price

by Jon, from United States, TX Written on February 20, 2015
Overall, robust and sturdy. Superb light transmission. Not comparable to my prized Schmidt and Bender but then that cost $4,500 and this didn't.

Clarity is great. Illuminated reticle is good although I rarely use that. FFP is the only way to go with a scope of this magnification power.

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. BTW, it's mounted on an AR-15 platform 6.5 Grendel. A bit of magnification overkill but I'd do it again in a minute.

Retains zero with precision....

Nice glass!

by DC, from United States, CA Written on December 20, 2014
The glass was better than I had expected. I have several very high end scopes and this would be the smallest in the flock. Nevertheless, it is a perfect choice for its intended use. I am mounting this on a lightweight AR....

Excellent rifle scope

by Shades, from United States, VA Written on December 6, 2014
Extremely satisfied with this scope. The first focal point allows for quick hold over at any zoom level. The zoom ring is a little stiff but the addition of the zoom lever easily solves that problem. The warranty on these scopes is outstanding!...

Better than my friend's Swarovski

by SuperGBoulder, from United States, CO Written on November 5, 2014
Used this scope and swapped it out for a Swarovski with the same magnification and objective lens. The Vortex was easier to use, brighter in dim conditions, and almost a third of the price. Awesome. One of the handy things about the scope is that you can zero in at 100 yards, easily use MILS to ratchet up to farther yardage and then instantly dial back down to 100 with a set zero point....

Excellent Price

by Gator, from United States, FL Written on October 15, 2014
If your looking at going First focal plane in a high quality scope this is the ticket. Excellent clarity and controls. They have hit the sweet spot in price point. Compare it to other high end scopes and you will see how good of a deal this scope is. The nest jump up is their Razor line which is even a little better....

Just got the scope

by snap27, from United States, CA Written on September 7, 2014
This scope is loaded with features at a reasonable price. Sure there are other high priced scopes that may be better, but this is quality scope in this price range loaded with features that function. Lighted reticle works great in low light conditions and the turret adjustments are repeatable. I have no hesitation making elevation adjusts with zero at 200 meters, dialing in for 800 meters and then back to a 200 meters. I plan to buy more Vortex products....
