Most Helpful Positive Review Great magnifier
I bought this magnifier to use with my Aimpoint PRO on my Colt 6940. I did not see the point of spending $500 + on the Aimpoint magnifier. I already...

Excellent value

by Teague, from United States, TX Written on November 18, 2014
I read a lot of online reviews before purchasing and wondered how everyone thought this mag was so good when others cost so much more. Well, they were right. It's a darn fine optic. The optic, flip to side mount, and misc hardware are high quality. The mount solidly sets at both detects and the position of the release button allows one hand to rotate it easily while maintaining a grip on the rifle. (For my rifle, that means maintaining a solid hold on the AR pistol grip and decent cheek weld).

Image quality and light transmission is also excellent. I've peered through some mighty expensive Swarovski, leupold, trijicon, and zeiss scopes before. The vortex is as bright and crisp as any, and much brighter than some (looking at you, trijicon-oh-dear-lord-I-need-NVGs-to-see-through-this-thing). Granted, this is just a short magnifier and not a full length scope.

The vortex is adjustable like a scope, but for the purposes of centering your other optic. For me, that's an aimpoint micro H1 with a riser. I was worried the aimpoint would sit too high, but the vortex also includes a riser. With the riser and some minor click adjustments, the vortex has the red dot dead center.

It's been pretty chilly outside lately, down in the 20's and teens, and it hasn't fogged up one bit.

I really like this thing. If I do another AR build, I'll get another....

Vortex VMX-3T Magnifier

by Old Guys Rule, from United States, AZ Written on November 5, 2014
The Vortex VMX-3T Magnifier has a log of good qualities for the money spent.

Pros: Vortex VMX-3T Magnifier works with my Eotech 512, Aimpoint Pro and Vortex Spark.
It comes with a flip mount, fair quality mount, but not the best.
3X magnification, now just for 3X I can’t see myself spending over $500 for just a 3X power
magnifier. Save your money for another gun you want to buy and not tell your wife.
I used it on several different weapons platforms(AR & AK .308), and it performed flawlessly.
I’ll purchase another Vortex 3X magnifier in the future, for the quality and price. (Side note
I sent my Vortex spark back for warranty work and it was hassle free and took about 10 business days.
So if it incurs damage in the future I’ll send it back too.

Cons: Flip mount is not a quick disconnect mount. Other than that small complaint it’s a great magnifier
for the money....

Good for the price.

by trum979, from United States, IN Written on October 31, 2014
This magnifier does a decent job for the price. The biggest drawback is poor eye relief and no lens covers. But, from what I've seen, the Aimpoints and Eotechs are not much better. Overall, I would recommend this optic....
Pros:
  • Price, rugged design

Excellent Product

by Wizard, from United States, IN Written on October 30, 2014
I ordered the VMX3T on a Monday, selected free shipping and received it the following Thursday. Can't beat that! After researching several magnifiers, I decided on this one. I wanted one that was reasonably clear, had a decent mount and would allow me to still use the BUIS. Five stars on all three. The VMX3T is as clear as any optic I have, including my Leupold scope. The mount is exceptionally stable and the magnifier clears the BUIS with room to spare....

No complaints

by FNgoodtime, from United States, FL Written on October 10, 2014
After reading multiple reviews and other sources for research on this item, I decided to give it a shot. I can honestly say I'm pleased with the magnifier. Clean glass, easy to mount, and significantly cheaper than other highly rated red dot magnifiers (i.e. EOTech, Aimpoint). I have it paired with my EOTech 517. Another good product from Vortex....

Vortex Magnifier

by Ragin Cajun, from United States, LA Written on September 25, 2014
This was put on my wives AR I built for her and she loves it with Vortex Strikefire in front. I like it as well. Makes it possible to shoot 100+ yards with a red dot. Also WAY cheaper than EO Tech option and I think it's better....

i like that this vortex magnifier has a lifetime warranty

by senior, from United States, CA Written on September 9, 2014
this magnifier sits perfect on my rifle. I first thought that the scope was going to sit a little too low but is not the case. it's nice to see that they put a windage and side dials on the magnifier as well. so far the quality of the lens very good. i like that the warranty is lifetime....

Good compromise

by trevor, from United States, WA Written on September 4, 2014
Note "fish eye" and very small "eye relief". Flip to side also takes some effort and left hand manipulation. The mechanism is not spring loaded. Definitely not best for quick engagement. Okay alternative for the price....

My title? Mr, mrs? Who cares

by Jonno, from United States, CA Written on August 30, 2014
Good optics, very clear , no distortion when used with my eotech. Latch needs improvement. It's set up on the wrong side so when you set it up for a right hander the latch button is in the front and harder to get to....

Pretty good

by MO Kid, from United States, MO Written on August 29, 2014
The eye relief was a little short for me and I'm 5'7". Still functional though just have to adjust a tad when using. It's great for the price and I threw it on one of my lower priced rifles. If you are on a budget this magnifier is pretty good. It seems to be a little better than middle of the road. I've only had it for a short time now so I can't really comment on lasting durability but I'm happy with it....
Pros:
  • Size
  • cost
  • Function
Cons:
  • Short eye relief
