Vortex Strike fire II

by Michael, from United States, FL Written on January 28, 2015
This is my second Vortex red dot. I used a M68 in my last deployment, and I wish I had this sight on my rifle. I prefer duel color and battery saving functions. I think probably one of the best red dots for the cost....

  • cost

  • home protection, varmint hunting

Works better than expected

by Billy, from United States, NY Written on January 28, 2015
Optic was easy to install and dial in due to clarity of red dot. Installed it on an ATI Omni AR-15 pistol and it works great!! Wish the mount was a bit lower in profile. Speaking of mount, make sure you check it's not working loose as you shoot the weapon. Overall an excellent optic for the price and have recommended it to numerous friends, two of which have since purchased same....

Director of maintenance & Facilities

by Jim, from United States, TX Written on January 27, 2015
The Vortex StrikeFire II is a very good red dot sight at a reasonable price. It has many of the same features as much more expensive systems at a fraction of the price. I don't shoot completion nor do I expect to be I a combat situation. For recreational shooting on a home made combat type range, it performs very well. Easy to sight in, takes the recoil, and holds zero well. I would recommend this sight to other black gun enthusiast, who want quality without breaking the bank. I am actually going to purchase a second for another rifle....

Good Value

by Russ Mergen, from United States, MN Written on January 26, 2015
I mounted and shot about 100 rounds yesterday through an AR15. The Red Dot was easy to use; the adjustments were easy to reach and view from a shooting position. I liked the height that the mount placed the sight at; I didn't try to use back-up sights but it looks to be the right height?...
Pros:
  • Nice sight for the money
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target shooting under 100 yards

Simplicity at its Best

by Kirk, from United States, NC Written on January 26, 2015
Great product. Does one thing and does it well. I'd definitely repurchase it and I plan on purchasing another for my next build. Everything is tight and operates as described in the owners manual. Sighting in was very straight forward. Unquestionably I recommend this optics....

Great product for the price and warranty

by WildBill, from United States, TX Written on January 22, 2015
I mounted it to my Colt LE6920 with ease. It fits well and works great with Vortex VMX-3T Magnifier with Flip Mount. Using the Vortex StrikeFire II is very easy. Its nice having the option to change colors of the DOT. Finish is nice, matching the rest of the accessories I have. Price and warranty make it a great deal! I would purchase again for sure....

Retired but not retired

by jackson, from United States, IL Written on January 21, 2015
Had serious reservations concerning a product made in China. I really hesitated for a long, long time before committing to this purchase. I don't find much value, quality or pride in craftsmanship in Chinese products (and I still don't), but my research led always back to this item. Granted, if I had the unlimited funds for an optic I most certainly would have purchased an American product without a doubt, but the cost of a good, quality American product would be almost the cost of the weapon I purchased. I could not justify that being on a limited income (retired police supervisor). I was just going to live with iron sights rather than take a slow boat to China, but the reviews from even the hardcore made me give this item a try. I have communicated with the company, which is located in Wisconsin (via China), and they are fantastic. This is a Chinese company but manned by Americans. Part of that equation I find acceptable. Am I happy with the item? You bet I am. It is not an Eotech, Burris, et.al. It is the best China has to offer. The lifetime warranty cannot be beat; the customer service is a model of American know-how. Now, if only they could buy out the Chinese end of the business.......
Pros:
  • Excellent warranty
  • excellent workmanship
Cons:
  • None

Really good optic

by BK AR, from United States, FL Written on January 19, 2015
I saw a video on the original StrikeFire via NutnFancy. The StrikeFire II improved the on the ony negative Sgt. NutnFancy had about the originals design. So far my time with it has been very positive. I would absolutely recommend this to someone who is looking for a great value red/green dot. If you don't want to spend 4-5 times the money on the big names this Vortex StrikeFire II would be & is my choice....
Pros:
  • quality, price, warranty
  • Value for the price

Vortex Strikefire II

by addfour, from United States, VT Written on January 19, 2015
Good red dot for money. Durable, and easy to use. If the dot is set too bright I find that, with my eyes, the dot becomes a little less defined. But then again, and don't have great bi-vision. Nice mount. Too high for an AK, but they make lower ones for it....

This sight works very well for civilian applications, I would be a little hesitant to take it into a full combat situation. MAC did a review on this sight, here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7TViJ-d_4M...
