I set this up in my outdoor shed which is exposed to the weather. the thermometer lead goes into my outside refrigerator two major the temperature inside the refrigerator. the remote sensor unit by in case in a plastic zip locked bag to keep the snow and water from damaging it. I then placed the remote sensor unit as close as I could to a line of sight with where I was going to place the base unit, that being my kitchen window. I then went inside and set up the base unit and in minutes I was receiving the remote sensor data about the temperature and so now as the outdoor temperature fluctuates we know when to skip outside and adjust to the refrigerators internal temperature setting to keep the contents from freezing. the distance from base unit in the kitchen window to the remote sensor unit is about 50ft. And there are two walls that can interfere with the signal. to I am using lithium batteries rather than regualar nickel cadmium or alkaline their reported to work better in below freezing temperatures which I have had plenty of in the last month. so far with one month of usage the unit has worked flawlessly.
Pros: It really works
Cons: to the subs to the to the the ...
