Worth it not to be a super cheapA$$

by NoobShooter, from United States, CA Written on November 10, 2014
Ok... getting reacquainted to shooting after 20 years hiatus decided to go the super cheap route. Well, UTG/Leapers mounts are inexpensive for a reason. Works well for my 10/22 and plinking with the AR-15. However, once I got back into precision shooting at the "short" 100 yard range, I wasn't happy with my 6" groupings. The circular threaded rods used in the UTG/Leaper mounts fitted into the Picatinny rails has too much slop for my engineering mind. The Warne's have square "rods" that fit exactly into the width of the Picatinny rails. The tight tolerances on the "rods" means very little slop and chances of the scope mount sliding in the grooves of the rails are little to none. My 6" groupings are now easily 3" grouping (so I have much more to work on there). It's hard enough to shoot well. Having good rings at good prices means one less variable to worry about (also one less excuse for not hitting the target)....

Very Nice

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on April 19, 2013
I used a Weaver Multi Slot base (48336) to mount these Warne Quick Detach rings (200LM) on my Remington 597 that has iron sights.

By using this system, the center line of the scope (Bushnell Banner 713948) was raised just 1/2" above the iron sights.

The rings are a little pricey compared to some other brands, but you get what you pay for. They are very solid rings that should last my lifetime.
Pros: Easy to install and remove, Solid
Cons: Price...

Warne Quick Detach Rings

These rings are simply the best. Easiest on the market to install. Never mar the scope, and repeatabilty with frequent on/off is outstanding.
Pros: Ease of use, non-marrings, repeatability

Nice Rings!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AL Written on March 26, 2012
These are very nice rings. Very strong and they look great too. They are just a bit tricky to install due to the square recoil lug wanting to fall out if you don't get the two ring halves snugged up tight enough before you try to mount them, but after you've done it a time or two there's nothing to it. I like being able to remove the scope for cleaning the rifle and then putting it back on and it still be zeroed. The quick release knob things do stick out a bit but in my opinion not enough to be a problem. I'm planning on buying another set of these rings to retro-fit another rifle with a picatinny rail and these rings....

Great Rings BUT......

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, KY Written on January 12, 2012
Ordered these rings for my new Nikon Monarch 1-4X20 African scope. The rings did not clear the iron sights so I will have to return them......but never a problem with Planet Optics... a super company to deal with!!
Pros: solid, good looking...

Warne QD rings are superb

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on May 13, 2010
I have become a big fan of the Warne QD rings. I use them on everything from my practical rifles to carbines. They are very high quality and allow quick access to BUIS when using magnified optics. As with any ring, you may need to compromise. I had to have a bolt handle bent to clear the bell on a low profile scope because I did not want to have to change my cheek weld.
Pros: Quality of material, ease of use
Cons: None - but choose height carefully...
