compared to many other brands of scopes this one is just run of the mill. That being said it is still decent enough and fits my application. If I could do it again I would purchase another brand of scope. Most of Weavers stuff that is not super slam, grand slam or Euroslam is older technology. You can do better with say Vortex or many other brands that are brighter and have newer coatings and inner workings.
Cons: over priced for what it is....

This is an update to my first review. I received a replacement scope from Weaver, and it's an entirely usable and nice scope. There is just the slightest hint of parallax at 100 yards (I suspect it's set at 100 meters) - the first scope had terrible parallax at all ranges. Optics are clear with only slight loss of sharpness at the edges. Brightness is excellent (as it should be with 7mm exit pupil). The first scope was a very low serial number (two digits) - don't let my first review stop you for taking a look at this scope. I like THIS one!
Pros: Fixed power, inexpensive
Cons: Matt only...
Would recommend: Yes
