Excellent Value High Powered Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on August 19, 2013
This is a great scope and it's very clear all the way through all its magnifications. Match that with the price and this is a great scope all the way around. It would be nice if the AO could be adjusted from a side knob instead of actually having to turn the objective lens but thats acceptable in this price range.

It's big but it's lightweight compared to other scopes in it's class.

It's a solid great scope at an excellent price with excellent weaver quality. I'm very happy with mine!
Pros: One of the lightest in it's Class, Can't beat the value, Very Clear glass
Cons: Milt Dot Reticle has very thick lines (way thicker than shown), AO requires you to turn the Obj lens...

Don't waste you money, or time. I did alot of research. Thought this scope would be the best deal for the money. The windage dial only worked for 10 clicks. I still needed to move point of impact 4" at 100yrds. Something is defective. Friend said, brother had same problem.
Pros: looks good
Cons: very disappointing clarity, can not see the bullet hole at 100 yrds....

Weaver 6-24x42 A/O Model 849411

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 8, 2011
I purchased this telescope to use on a Brno Mod. 2, and have chosen it because the reticule is thin enough to use on competition targets, but also has enough clarity for hunting purposes. After trying it last week end on targets with a 1.1mm centre bull, I was able to not only see the small centre, but able to hit it as well(Good for a bunny rifle). The clarity of this telescope is excellent at all power settings.
I also own a Weaver T36 which is mounted on an Anschutz BR50 rifle, and can see no reason to purchase any other brand.
Regards,
Jeff S.

High value and very good quality for your money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OH Written on March 17, 2011
I've had about 6 months to put this scope through it's paces and it's performed to meet or exceed almost all of my expectations especially at the price point. The fine crosshairs and varmint reticle make for very precise shooting and the quality of the image you see at all zoom levels is very good. Weaver seems to have it's quality coming back around and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of these in the future. What I would change is the fine focus being on the objective end of the scope. As with some other manufacturers I prefer a third turret on the left side of the scope as it's mounted to adjust quickly and with less movement than reaching all the way forward to make those adjustments. A minor inconvenience but with that one drawback through my use this scope is a very good value for your dollar.
Pros: Construction, components, glass, reticle
Cons: Fine Focus front mounted...

Weaver V24

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on July 24, 2007
PROS:The fit an finish are excellent. The magnification adjustments are solid. Paralax adjustments are accurate. The cross hairs ("varmint reclicle" which are fine duplex cross hairs with a 1/8MOA center dot) are great. They're fine enough to zero in on small targets at long ranges, but large enough so they are not lost in the background. The finger adjustable windage and elevation are great, they are also able to be reset to zero without tools.
CONS:This is not a Leupold scope, but at less than half the cost, your losing less than 10% of the clarity, and this is at higher magnifications (>20). The MOA adjustments only go to 6 per knob revolution, so if you are shooting at longer ranges you'll have to make note of this when making adjustments. (one revolution + 1 MOA mark = 7MOA). Head position is critical at higher magnifications, and the eye relief is a bit less than would be necessary for lighter, higher recoil rifles, particularly if you are using "flip-up" lens caps (that little red push button will rap you in the nose if you forget to take them off when shooting from a bench, off-hand shooting is not a problem).
OVERALL:This is a great scope for the money, I purchased this after having a V16 on a .308 for over 15yrs, with no issues what-so-ever, so it was an easy decision to make when looking for a scope for a varmint rifle. I feel you get more than you pay for with this scope.
Pros: Crosshairs, resettable adjustment knobs, value,x-hairs,range of magnification ...
