Did not tighten down as much as I would expect. I used on a .22 caliber rifle. should work fine for this but would not recommend for higher caliber rifles.

small...but solid!

these little rings are a great match with the Weaver Scout Scope. I have them both on a Weigand rail on my Mini-30, and are holding zero after multiple magazines. use a bit of loctite and you are good to go!
Pros: vice like grip! half as many screws.
Cons: can scratch your scope if you aren't careful....

What can I say, Weaver makes good products. A set of these on my Marlin 336 in the low profile is all I needed.
Scopes not going anywhere.
The folks at Optics Planet had them in stock and at a great price.
Pros: Solid and easy to install
Cons: None...

Weaver Detachable Top Mount Rings

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, FL Written on November 1, 2010
One of the rings I received either had a manufacturing defect or the two rings were designed with different manufacturing tolerances. Either way, one of two rings would pop with even a mild bump to the forend. Under firing conditions with the bad ring installed in the rear with blue locktite, the ring popped on the second shot. This was a waste of money.
Pros: Inexpensive, lightweight
Cons: manufacturing defect...
