I purchased the mx400 about a week ago and finally got to do some hard core testing on this system. I know I couldn't find much info on it so I thought filling this out would help someone else with there decision. When I opened it up everything was neatly packed. All parts where very self explanatory on install. Once it was ready to go I took off to my back yard. With in minuets I had found quite a few penny's and dimes. Most about 3-4" below surface. When set to all metal I was finding bb's shot from my child hood. Had to turn the sensitivity down to about 1/4. The large coil makes it a little hard to pinpoint with the machine but still very effective done right. Put a few different items in a bucket at different depths and found that it has a little trouble seeing dimes and other coins standing on end but still got a signal at 5-7". Gold jewelry also had a good signal at about 4" but past that it had a little trouble picking it up. Great system for the price. The touch screen is a little hard to read with direct sun light hitting it but easily over come with a little cardboard shade. It's also has a little lag when going over an object but still in the general range where the pin pointer will finish the job. All in all it's a great setup for beginners or experts. The pros out weigh the cons on this device in my opinion. Hope this helps you make a decision on your next purchase.
Pros: Easy to use and set up
Cons: Large coil and hard to see screen with direct sun light.
