Poor clarity for a lot of money

by stargrazer, from United States, FL Written on November 19, 2014
I did a bunch of research on night vision and thought I bought a winner based on all the good reviews it had. I was wrong. I could not get it to focus well enough to see anything very clearly. On the plus side it was relatively light and had a nice rubberized skin on it. I felt it was too expensive of a piece of equipment when I had bought a night vision toy for $60 bucks that did just as well. Optics Planet was wonderful about letting me return it and gave me a full refund. Thanks very much for that! I ended up getting a Armasight Spark monocular and hope to review it soon. So far its clarity is MUCH better....
Pros:
  • Lightwesigh
  • rubber skin
Cons:
  • Poor Clarity

surprisingly good

by gatobob, from United States, FL Written on September 24, 2014
Surprising good for the price. Clarity for several hundred feet. Power consumption is very low and binoculars operate for a few minutes even after power is shut off. The infrared illuminator is powerfull extending easily for a hundred feet, and provides more clarity/contrast, but only covers a round area where the beam is projected.the waterptoof version rubber power buttons are a little hard to depress since the rubber interferes with the micro pushbutton under it. The illuminator button seems to work better in my set. The interoccular spacing is fixed at about 65 mm, so I would expect it might be uncomfortable viewing for people with outside of average eyespacing. The carrying case is a good looking, shaped nylon bag that fits well on the shoulder. It uses a cr123a battery, which you should order separately, and are not common to find. The lense covers have a small hole to allow viewing under bright light situations, but sometimes you can forget to open these in the dark but still able to see. The 2 times magnification does not seem noticeable..these could probably be used with a head bracket for hand free use....

Outstanding

by SuperGBoulder, from United States, CO Written on September 8, 2014
You will not be disappointed in the performance of these night vision goggles, they are excellent for the price. They really do light up the night with long distance viewing being easy too. The only knock I would give them is that the eye hole distance apart is fixed - it works for me but my kid can only see through one hole at a toime....

Yukon Viking Night Vision Binoculars - 2x24mm, w/ IR Illuminator 25023

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, SC Written on January 11, 2013
The binoculars work quite well. I purchased them hoping to see things around the house within 100' or so. I didn't set my expections very high, but I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they work. In low light I can see roughly 130 yards. I can easily see the pin from the yardage marker! Fun toy!
Pros: They work quite well.
Cons: None for the price....
