this is a pretty nice unit. combine it with the IR lite that mounts to it and you can see very far in total darkness. the built in IR lite works well enough for most needs. I like it alot.
The right choice

Other reviews said batts didn't last... mine lasted 15 days at apx. 3 hours per day. I also read couldn't focus... first focast the distance, 'outer ring', then focus your eye, with the eyepiece ring. I was spotting deer, didn't even need the uv light. Very nice product.

I bought this device by Yukon several weeks ago and it is really great!
The image is very nice though you cant expect much from gen.1. But the performance (battery is long-lasting) is absolutely fantastic.
Moreover, the price is more than affordable.
Great value and fun!

Pros: Remarkable sharpness and clarity for the price
Cons: easy to accidentally bump the "on" button, two focus rings
Would recommend: yes

I was really surprised how sharp the images are and overall how well this works. The built in IR light works very well, though of course the effective range is limited to 20 feet or so. I've used this mostly on Lake Erie both hand held and attached to a C 130 telescope. Boats traverse at night, sometimes with lights sometimes not. Always curious, this thing really reaches out. At distance the images aren't quite as crisp, but I'm satisfied. Also used it to identify night critters in the garden.
