Yukon 7x50 Futurus

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on February 19, 2008
This binocular is nearly everything the Zeiss Jena Jenoptem 7x50W was and then some in many ways. The coatings are excellent and the view is very sharp. They might be a bit big for some people and the eye cups are intended for use without eyeglasses, but these are really excellent binoculars. I would rate the coatings an 8.5 out of 10 vs the German Docter brand version of this same binocular that had coating that I rtated a 9.5 out of 10, but the Docter model has a price about 6x as high. If you really want a 7x50 binocular for stargazing or general viewing and you can handle a larger binocular like the Zeiss (Oberkochen) 7x50 Classic or the Nikon Prostar, then this is an excellent value with sharp optics.
Pros: great handling, huge eye lenses, very sharp image
Cons: large binocular, covers take a bit of getting used to...
Would recommend: Yes
