Best buy for your money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 17, 2013
This is everything they say that it is, great for night hunting coyotes & hogs, I put this on a Daewoo DR-200 .223--very deadly at a 100 yards. I'm very pleased with this, may buy another for my .308
Pros: very light, tough, easy to use, AA batterys
Cons: none that I can find...

Good Value Easy to Use

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NC Written on November 22, 2012
The Yukon Mini Varmint hunter is great. I got this while waiting for a more expensive Gen 2+ on back order. When I got this one I cancelled the Gen2+. I mounted this in 5 minutes as it had simple knobs and was able to bore sight it with my laser in 10 min. The knobs are easy to use and don't require a coin to adjust. The scope sighted in at night relatively easily. It was high left and adjusted to center in about 16 rounds. I took it out to my hog stand and was hunting the night I sighted it in. The vision is great in clear nights and moon phases. I also had good visibility in overcast with light bouncing off cloud cover. Dark no moon cloudy nights require the use of the IR light on the scope. The low magnification is acceptable for my stand but I might like to have a higher power scope. The reticle is bright red and can be used as an aim point during the day. Remember to keep the cover closed in daylight. Great value for the money!
Pros: Good Price, Easy to Sight In, Good visibility, Easy to mount
Cons: Battery tube hard to access, Limited to IR in dark nights...

Worst Gen 1 I have ever Used

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on November 19, 2012
My eyes were better at seeing with ambient light at night than this tube! ( no IR)

when using the IR light up only a little circle near the crosshairs. This unit was sent back for a refund. No "20 degree angle of view" with this unit!

Thankfully Optics Planet has a good return policy. Thank you Optics Plant!

I have had other Belorussian units before ( gen 1+) I would rate this as below gen 1. YMMV.
Pros: none
Cons: IR does not light up most of the tube, Starlight capability is absent!...

Awesome short range scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MA Written on November 19, 2012
I bought this to mount on a Horton Vision crossbow. Had read that some night vision was not compatable with crossbows because of forward recoil. Since the Horton is a reverse limb design, I decided to give it a try. The scope mounted easily on the existing Weaver rail and returns to zero each time it is re-installed. Light gain is decent without the IR and since my setup is a 50 yard system, the built in IR is fine to add a little extra illumination. The scope does not magnify like the 4X on the bow, but I am able to shoot 2" groups at 30 yards.
I am very impressed with the quality and performance for this price range.
Pros: Built like a tank
Cons: None...

Happy in Oklahoma

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OK Written on December 2, 2010
I live ten miles from the nearest town , we own cattle, dogs, cats, we have every critter known to man out here, but we also have coyotes. I had 5 of them out my back door @ 15 yds, and less about a week ago. Installed the night vision tonight , sighted it in with the lazer, 2 clicks up , 2 clicks right. Bulleyes at 70 yds. Frist round . Im shooting 223. I`m extremely happy with my purchase.
Pros: Light , simple to operate , fits on my razor back with back-up sights left on.
Cons: For me , there was none...

Yukon Mini Varmint Hunter NVRS Titanium

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NV Written on September 12, 2010
I was unsure what to expect, because of the low price. It was a wonderful surprise to me how well it is functioning. I found it to be surprisingly fun to use. I could clearly I.D. objects at 200 ft. I doubt this scope would satisfy the professional, but for the entry level guy like me it is a great value, for the money. And would recommend it to my family and friends. It is well worth the money, no regrets.
Pros: Very easy to use
Cons: For me there are none...

Great night vision scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on December 1, 2009
I used it recently and was very pleased. Another great feature not mentioned is the small hole designed in the lens cover that I covered with a sunglass dark lens and it enabled me to zero the scope with no issues during a cloud covered day.
Pros: Image clarity out to 100 -150 yds excellent, easy to use, love AA batteries
Cons: The remote button for cross hairs is crude, but not really necessary since the manual switch on the scope is easy and accessible...

Yukon mini varmit

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AR Written on October 25, 2008
I purchased this unit to mount on a Ruger 10-22. This unit exceeded my expectatios for the ranges of a 22.The scope is small for a starlite scope and makes a unique combination for close range varmit hunting, espically pest control.
Pros: awsome on a 22 rifle
Cons: to minor to mention...
