Exceeds Expectations

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 23, 2013
This was fairly easy to sight in, I remembered from another review that the reticle will move the in the opposite direction form what the arrow on the adjustment know says, and dialed it right in. I did my sighting in after dark, and in no time had all my rounds staying in a 2 inch circle at 50 yards. On a night with 70% moon or more I had no trouble seeing coyote size game at 100 yards, and on a dark night the IR is effective at this range also. Which is way better than what I expected from reading all the reviews before I bought it. I am using this to eliminate problem coyotes in my back yard. Most shots are 50/75 yard and it has been very effective. Mounted on a 300 AAC Blackout I've eliminated three to date!
Pros: Uses AA batteries, lighter than competition, controls easy to use
Cons: Magnification is nowhere near 2.5 X, ...

Well it seems my 3rd one is finally working

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, MI Written on May 25, 2012
It works well enough for the money I guess, however I received 2 broken units before I got a good one. They could make a better quality product that costs less if they would spend some time on quality control in the first place.
Pros: Finally one that focuses.
Cons: No magnification, IR illuminator is a bright red dot at 100 yds. ...

Suggest Hefeweizen Blue Boar Bottle

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 28, 2011
First off - I am prior military - and a sharpshooter. I have requested the return labels from Amazon to send this back. Time and effort trying to make this work has wasted days of my life.

Focusing this thing at a hundred yards is POOR quality even in daylight mode.

Installing it on a Savage .223 to fix a coyote problem. The Savage Axis/Edge needed a Picatinny military style mounting rail. There is only one made for this gun from EGW #41800 that bought through Amazon via Optics Planet I believe. Finally got the scope mounted and the bolt action slides back touching the scope lightly - put in spacers to clear without rubbing. Bore sighted at sporting goods store with the Bushnell laser boresighter kit. Was boresighted at 25 yards and these guys have always got my guns on paper at 25 and a hundred. This was 2 feet high at 50. Shot half a dozen shells in a light drizzle - cool humid day. 55-60 Degrees? Now on paper at 50. Reticle is visible when scope goes black. Can't see anything but the reticle in daylight. Check batteries - but why is the reticle working if the scope is not? Not batteries. Half hour of shutting it off - cleaning lenses thinking fogged up or moisture? Pinhole in daylight cap isn't plugged or have a water drop in it. ??? Later in night conditions - turn on night vision and IR - still nothing!! Great .... warranty issue. Next morning turn it on and look through it like nothing ever happened. Looks fine. Talk to Yukon reps in TX - they deduct that the "wat...

it does the job, solid product.

Bought it for my b-day, but I had to leave before it arrived. Had a family member try it out. Said you can see the hill about (250/300) yards away. I was surprised. I finally got my hands on it when it was pitch black after rain. I could see maybe 75/100 yards across field and image was blurred due to condensation on eye piece lense. Whipped it off, was better. So I came in the house to check moon phases, last night was 99% full but we still had clouds blocking the moon shine. So a dull lumination. I tried it again. It was vivid, you can make out objects well at distance, by the hill. IR is a nice aid, but seems to be best for super low light. I cant imagine a full moon night, would be like daylight thru it. Says you can use 308 or less. I guess. This isnt like military generation where you can see half way across the county in pitch black. You get what you pay for. First gen works but it isnt the best, BUT it is affordable. From what I can tell dont buy a cheap 1st gen scope, spend the extra $200. Otherwise it looks solid and a good product. One thing i noticed was you can turn the switch off and it appears to continue using captured light without a power source. It dims slowly, saves on batteries BUT it's also why you dont look at light with the lens still green. These things have lotsa dos and don'ts. READ THE BOOK and look up how night vision works to get the most out of your product and how not to break it.
Pros: AA batteries, simple, ergonomic, warranty, doesnt make noi...

should sell a Wal Mart for 75.00

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on June 5, 2010
horrible, like looking through a standard scope with a green glow, very little light amplification compared to Gen 1 old military stuff, with illuminator on it snuffs out the whole view into a green haze. The illuminator was crooked and upon losening to refit the nut came off internally 2 hours later and complete dissasembly its put back together right. Hunk of Scrap save your money and invest in a good conventional low light scope.

Yukon NVRS Tactical 2.5 x 50 SALE Generation 1 Night Vision Riflescope 26014T GEN1 2.5x50

If a piece of equipment is out of stock -- you should say so on your listing. You should also include "valid" warranty information with the item. I was sent a "go to" card with a non-existent web link. I had to make 5 calls between two companies before I finally got someone who knew what they were doing. Impressed with the produce, not the company -- sorry....
