I haven't had the opportunity to test the accuracy of the SightMark laser sighting, yet, but it would be nice to have an off/on switch in the primer location to conserve the short life of the batteries.

Pros: Nice Brass Construction
Cons: Loose in Chamber
Would recommend: no

Tried it in my PX4 (40S&W) and found it sloppy at best. The dimensions are cut to the shell tolerances and since manufacturers of semi-automatic handguns have a greater tolerance for the chamber it moves substantially in the chamber. I could not get it to give me a consistent bore zero. I suppose I can try aluminum tape to close the gap and make it tighter. The one I bought for my 12GA is also loose in the chamber and no longer gives me a consistent bore zero.
The only way to turn it off is to remove the batteries, which are very easy to lose.

I purchased the SM39003 for a semi-auto .270 Winchester. These things sure make scope setup easy. Keep in mind that this is a red bore sight that is not easily seen in bright daylight. I could use the bore sight up to 25 yards in bright daylight against a plywood background. No trouble seeing the red dot at 200 yards on cloudy days, or at dusk and dawn, with a large white box and white paper targets. I have a reflective highway road sign that served as an excellent back drop during semi-bright days, and especially at dusk and dawn. You are not supposed to use reflective items to prevent eye damage, and I mention the sign for a reason. The sign shifted the laser reflection one red dot size, depending on the dot size at the distance, and where the red dot hit the sign. However, the sign was a tremendous help at 200 yards! I had a small problem with the bore sight when first received, but SightMark quickly fixed the issue. It would be nice if other companies set their customer service standards ...

Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: 12 GA is Aluminum not brass, batteries go dead fast!
Would recommend: yes

The 12ga model is aluminum body not brass as advertised. The battery cap can take a beating from the ejection system from a pump action limiting its overall life. But if you are careful (or don't close the action) it should pay you back in the price of ammo and frustration quickly. Can be difficult to see with open sights especially in the daytime; works much better with a scope. Could try boresighting with an old license plate maybe (very reflective surface). I used to boresight 2 mossberg 535 shotguns with rifled barrels.
