Good Laser bore sight, value for $.

by Sandman, from Australia, WESTERN AUSTRALIA Written on September 9, 2014
Works great. I have used mine on every thing from a S&W 357 Revolver to a .22 Bruno rifle.
Easy to use and saves time and ammo in setting up your optics.
Found that the magnet didn't hold on all that well in the bigger bore rifles due to either a weak magnet or not enough metal to attract too with the 30cals. But still works providing you keep the gun supported and don't make sharp moves or it will fall out of the barrel.
Go for it !!...
Pros:
  • Small and light weight
  • Gets the job done without the fuss.
Cons:
  • A little too light in construction
  • Magnet not very strong but is ok for the job at hand.
Best Used for:
  • smaller calibers like .22

Accurate time saver

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TX Written on January 13, 2014
Received the Sightmark Triple Duty Universal Laser Bore Sight and tried it out. Super easy to use. First put it on a .22 rifle I just set the scope a few weeks ago. Red dot showed up exactly on the crosshairs as I hoped. This tells me it must be pretty true. Only concern I have is the ON Off button design is almost guaranteed to get turned on in the case and run the expensive little batteries down. I put a piece of tape over the On side so it can't accidently get pushed easily in the case. Its a simple fix the manufacturer should address to make this convenient little product near perfect for my purposes of getting on paper quickly and cheaply.
Pros: Super easy to install and accurate
Cons: On Off button design is a booby trap battery killer...

Good for rough sighting in, but not exact

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, UT Written on September 14, 2013
I got this to roughly sight in my trap gun and it worked decently. It is not precise but it will get you on paper at least. I bought a demo model at a discount and it was worth it, but I definitely wouldn't spend $44+ on one.
Pros: Easy to set up and use
Cons: Not very precise, pricey for what you get...

Easy to use

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AZ Written on September 5, 2013
It is pretty hard to make sure it is centered in the bore. It won't hold the exact zero if you take it off, and put it back on. You cannot see the laser in bright daylight, farther away than 30 yards. It will get you fairly close, and you can do the rest. Will not work at all on an aluminum flash hider, or compensator.
Pros: Very easy to set up and use. Works with almost any gun.
Cons: Not bright enough to use outdoors, except at night....

Sightmark demo review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on August 3, 2013
simple to use. No arbor, but has alignment concentric circles for centering, very strong rare earth magnet. Batteries (392/303) are somewhat expensive unless you research supply houses like Digi-key.com, etc. for quantity purchase (abt. $1.25 ea. if you buy 10 0r 20. If you buy at wal- mart or other places they could as much as $6.00 each...3 needed. compact and easy to carry in it's own little pouch.
Pros: Small
Cons: Batts. hard to find unless yuo know commercial jobbers...

Get's you in the ballpark

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AZ Written on August 2, 2013
I am an avid hunter and as such my hunting needs will dictate what rifle and what scope that I am going to need to use for the next days hunt. Being that I may only have a days warning it is not always possible to get to the gun range. I have another boresighter but it doesn't fit into my smaller rifles. I got this one with the idea that this would be "universal" and be able to be used with my smaller rifle. In the owners manual it states that the boresighter will get you to within 2 MOA. So while this boresighter will get you on paper, it is not going to be accurate enough for me to trust sighting in and taking a rifle out the next day like I can with my other boresighter. It will help to save me money on ammunition but I am still going to have to go to the range.
Pros: Saves ammunition to get you onto paper faster
Cons: A little too variable...

Grandaddy Gunner

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 29, 2013
Buy the red laser instead of the green. I bought the green thinking it would be brighter outside. I could not even see the light on the target so replaced the batteries. Still could not see the laser so replaced the green Sightmark with the red. The red is very bright outdoors and also costs less than the green Sightmark.
Pros: Easy to use and is very accurate and bright.
Cons: None...
