1798 Konus MotorMax-150 Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope - 1798 The Konus Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescopes incorporate 4 optical designs in one scope: the lenses of refractors, the mirrors of Newtonians, the compact designs of Schmidt-Cassegrains and the unique exotic design of the Maksutov-Cassegrain. This results in wider viewing fields, sharper imagery and a slightly heavier unit for any given aperture versus a more traditional design. A 3.5" diameter aperture can magnify up to 180x for deep space objects, but is also right at home at 20x for capturing a bird on a branch.
