Ordering prescription eyewear with OpticsPlanet is simple and hassle-free. Orders can be placed online using our prescription form or over the phone with one of our Eyewear Experts.
When placing your order online, please type your prescription into our online form exactly as listed. To ensure that your order is accurate, please only use a prescription that is less than one year old and issued by a licensed optician. Please note that OpticsPlanet is not responsible for any mistakes caused by inaccuracies with your prescription information. All orders require a Pupil Distance (PD). Please note that no orders will be processed without a Pupil Distance included. A standard Pupil Distance is between 54 and 70 millimeters for adults and 41 to 55 millimeters for children. Some prescriptions contain multiple Pupil Distances due to different measures for the right eye (OD PD) and the left eye (OS PD). Another reason for multiple pupil distances is the need to correct for both distance and near vision. In this case, your prescription will state either PD near or PD distance. Please contact your optician to decide whether you require progressive/bifocals or single vision eyewear. If your prescription contains multiple Pupil Distances, please enter this information in the comment section of our online form.
For orders requiring bifocals or progressive lenses, please make sure to include Segment Height when completing our online form. In addition, please make sure to choose a frame in advance and have it present during your eye examination so your local eyewear center can take correct measurements of your Segment Height. If you are in need of a frame in order for your local eyewear center to measure your Segment Height, please contact us.

All prescription eyewear orders require us to charge your credit card prior to processing. Please ensure the accuracy of all information typed into our online ordering form as any changes made after submission to our lab will result in a 50% surcharge to your original order. Also, if you would like to cancel your order, please contact us immediately. Please note that if our lab has already started working on your order, a restocking fee of 50% of the original order cost will apply.
Most prescription eyewear orders deliver in two to three weeks. In addition to our standard processing, OpticsPlanet also provides Rush (3-5 business days/$35 surcharge) and Expedited (8-9 business days/$25 surcharge) turnaround for orders for the following brands ONLY:

In most cases, OpticsPlanet does not accept Returns of Prescription Eyewear customized to fit a customer’s prescription. In rare cases, OpticsPlanet accepts returns with proper approval. Please note that in this case, OpticsPlanet charges a restocking fee of 50% of the original order cost for all returns sent back within 14 days of receipt. Please note that no returns will be accepted after 14 days from receipt. If you believe that your order was not properly customized, please contact us immediately. In the rare case that our lab made an error, OpticsPlanet will correct the problem for you.
If there are any concerns that a frame will properly fit prior to order placement, OpticsPlanet offers a Trial Program which allows you to try some of our most popular frames prior to purchasing. For more information, please review our Trial Program Information Page.
OpticsPlanet is able to install new Rx lenses into your current frame. Please note that OpticsPlanet is not responsible for any damage that occurs to your frame during lens installation. In this case, OpticsPlanet will not replace the original frame nor issue a refund to cover the frame’s cost. All frames sent in must be in good condition. For any frames not sent in good condition, OpticsPlanet reserves the right to charge an additional $6.99 to send the package back to the customer. At this time, OpticsPlanet does not accept any insurance vision plans. Many insurance companies will allow you to submit your receipt for reimbursement after your purchase is complete. For more information, please contact your insurance provider.
