Sky Watcher 10 Inch Dobsonian Telescope S11720 Product Info

The Sky Watcher 10 Inch Dobsonian Telescope S11720 is a bigger and more friendlier telescope than its 8 inch Dobsonian S11700 counterpart. This Sky Watcher telescope can be a very pleasant telescope to own, which will provide a lifetime of continuing exploration of the outer galaxy. Many amateurs will become satisfied with the 10" Dobsonian's large aperture capabilities along with its revolutionary truss-support concept which allows the optical tube's front and back cells to collapse together, while aligning on the truss support rods, and can be locked down for a more easier and secure way to transport the telescope. This one piece , low hassle OTA design is mechanically simple and results in a large aperture telescope that can be handled with ease and transported by just one individual. This innovation helps Sky Watcher users take a huge load off their shoulders when transporting.

Observing with the Sky-Watcher 10 Inch Dobsonian Telescope

With this large aperture telescope by Sky Watcher the observer has amazing light gathering power for observing noticeable deep-space objects such as diffuse emission nebulae in the summer sky like the Lagoon (M8), Trifid (M20), and Swan (M17); the huge array of star clusters M13 and M92 in Constellation Hercules; the winter sky's Great Orion Nebula (M42) in constellation Orion, and the enormous Andromeda galaxy (M31) in constellation Andromeda.

It is without question that the Sky-Watcher 10 Inch Dobsonian Telescope S11720 is more visually impressive when compared to the 8 Inch Dobsonian Telescope SS11700. The Sky-Watchers's compact, collapsible optical tube design makes the decision to step in aperture to a 10" easier.

Ease of use with the Sky Watcher Dobsonian 8in Telescope

Observing with a Dobsonian 8 inch Telescope has been compared to shooting ducks in a gallery because it is so easy to find a target for observation. Just swing the telescope by Sky watcher to the sky, and scan the proximity. An 8x50mm Right Angle optical viewfinder provides both magnification and light-gathering to help narrow your search for the stars. The standard equipment backlash-free 2 Inch Crayford Focuser provides ultra smooth focusing adjustments. Multi-coated, 4 element eyepieces (25mm and 10mm) provide a spacious 52? field of view.

Sky Watcher Dobsonian Telescope Quality Components

The Sky-Watcher 10 Inch Dobsonian Telescope S11720 uses quality components throughout with a pride of workmanship in high quality standards of optical and mechanical construction. The polishing process for the primary and diagonal mirror provides smooth mirror surfaces to assure good contrast. On each primary mirror, and elliptical diagonal mirror, aluminum is vacuum deposited to the front glass surface and then over coated with hard quartz. Additional layers of Titanium Dioxide and hard quartz are then applied. Dust covers help keep the telescope by Sky Watcher clean when not in use.
