Holiday GalaIt was a forlorn, desolate winter day in Chicagoland, with its bitter cold wind penetrating every single layer of your clothing. When suddenly the seemingly uninhabited north-western suburb of Chicago filled with laughter, excitement and anticipation of a grand Holiday Gala hosted by OpticsPlanet, Inc. The event commemorated the end of the hectic Holiday season, and allowed us to show our endless appreciation for the dedicated and hard-working people we are so lucky to employ. At the center of the event was a NASCAR- or Formula-1-like racing thrill with 12 teams competing for a significant cash prize. The guests witnessed a real racing experience with the Schumachers and Gordons of OpticsPlanet displaying an incredible breadth of skill - teamwork, strategy, driving. As the wheels began turning, the brows started to furrow and the faces turned serious. The participants weren't going to settle for a leisurely drive. They were on a quest…a quest to win that cash prize. The drivers exuded enthusiasm and confidence, but not without a trace of tense anticipation. The drivers were not the only ones on edge. Every squeal of the brakes and every change on the scoreboard imparted a spike of adrenaline to the onlookers. The grandeur of the event was enhanced by the presence of the sponsoring vendors, who have once again helped make this event as splendid as it was. The participation of ATN, Barska, Bushnell, Celestron, Human Touch, Leupold, Nikon, Pelican, EOTech and Streamlight, Sports South, and Zeiss in the OpticsPlanet Holiday Gala 2007 is testament to the strong ties and mutual respect existing between OpticsPlanet and the vendors. Agility, skill and undeniable talent have propelled Team Sports South to the top of the charts, with the 2nd and 3rd places captured by Team Bushnell and Human Touch Racing respectively. Aside from racing, all guests were able to enjoy award-winning catering, full bar and open-play arcade. All in all, we are off to a great start in the year 2008, with all the ingredients for more wild fun and exceptional work in place. |
