Commander Digital by Steiner - 7 x 50 Commander Digital Binocular combines state-of-the-art optical and navigational technology and ease of use in a light-weight, rugged package. Whether racing towards your next mark in wet weather or navigating coastal waters near sandbars and reefs, the 7x50 Commander Digital Binocular by Steiner is a must-have tool for racers, cruisers and professional navigators who demand precision high-tech optics.
The fluxgate compass binocular features a completely redesigned microprocessor that computes up to 15 bearings per second, providing greater reliability for instantaneous digital bearings that are precise to one degree, even with inclination angles up to 10 degrees.
After 10 seconds of non-use, the compass memory function records the last bearing taken and automatically shuts off to conserve battery power. Upon turning the binoculars memory function back on, the previous bearing is displayed. It's simple functionality, makes it easy to use, and provide fast, accurate bearings in any situation. The steiner compass can also be adjusted for variation or declination, or read reciprocally.
Precision optical engineering and high-definition optics produces maximum image clarity and brightness, even in low light or darkness. Through the use of innovative electronic lens-coating technology, the 7 x 50 mm Commander Digital provides unmatched light transmission (up to 96 percent).
Steiner binoculars present 7x50 mm Commander Digital Binoculars that feature a light entrance window, which measures light and automatically adjusts the brightness of the LED display. The reticle lines, numbers and indicators are easily readable in daylight and in artificial light. Steiner Digital II is a porro prism binocular also has 21 mm of eye relief, and can be easily used with eyeglasses by rolling down the soft eye cups.
Advanced military design and a fiber-reinforced polycarbonate blue rubber-armored housing make the 7x50 Commander Digital extremely rugged and lightweight and help it perform even in the harshest weather conditions, when you need it most. All aluminum components are anodized to protect against corrosion, and the binocular is completely mil-spec waterproof to a depth of 5 meters (16.4 ft), and shockproof, with internal optical chambers pressurized with dry nitrogen to protect against condensation at varying temperatures, all these features make Steiner Comander Digital a great Marine Binoculars.
The 7x50mm Commander Digital is equipped with collapsible plastic objective lens covers secured to the binocular body. A rain protection cover for the eyepieces is attached to the carrying strap. Three lithium batteries power the compass.
The mil. reticle (1 mil = 1 meter @ 1,000 meters) and the scale increments broken down by grid length or height and smaller unit measurement for range finding ability. A simple formula (in any for of measurement) can also be done:
Actual subject height or length over scale height or length x 1000
For instance, a tower is 200 feet high, it reads 10 in your reticle scale, 200 over 10 = 20, making the object 20,000 feet away.
