TeleVue Reducer for NP Telescopes NPR-1073 has the optical property of decreasing the effective focal length of the telescope. Reduced focal length results in wider-field and faster imaging time on nebulae and galaxies. Tele Vue 0.8x Reducer can be used for all Tele Vue Petzval telescopes such as TeleVue-NP101 Telescope (NPC-4054), Tele Vue Imaging System Scope NP127is (NPI-5053), and Tele Vue NP-101is Imaging System Scope (NPI-4055). The 0.8X Reducer from Televue is optimized for 55mm back focal length typical of SLR camera body that accepts T Rings.

To use Tele Vue Reducer 0.8x for scopes with 2" focusers (such as the Televue NP-101) you will need to attach optional adapter Tele Vue Imaging System Noisepiece for 2" Focuser (RAD-1074) to the front of the Reducer to connect to your scope’s 2" focuser drawtube. For Tele Vue NP101is or NP 127is scopes that to achieve maximum field illumination and focus you'll need to use Televue Extension Tubes (TLA-0250, TLB-0375, TLC-0500, TLD-1000) in conjunction with Tele Vue 0.8 Reducer.

Optimum performance is obtained with the NP scope models and cameras having APS size format (approximately 30mm diagonal). In all cases, the field and speed increases by 25%.
