Vixen 200mm R200SS Newtonian Telescope and GPD2 Mount 99842M features an 8" f/4 parabolic primary mirror, providing extremely sharp images with no chromatic aberration. The
use of state-of-the-art coating technology yields the ideal surface for its f/4 primary mirror. The Vixen R200SS Telescope lets the visual observer enjoy wide views of deep night sky objects. Actual groups of nebula or clusters can be viewed at the same time with this telescope. The Vixen telescope's large aperture and compact body make it ideally suited f or astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters and comets. The use of the optional coma corrector allows for a sharp coma-free image from edge to edge, and the rack and pinion focusing mount, with an adapter, accepts 2 eyepieces. The GPD2 equatorial mount is the stronger and heftier of the Vixen GP mounts. With it's solid steel R. A. and Declination axes and brass worm gears this mount will hold up to years of heavy use. In order to assure accurate tracking for astro photography the worm, gears are especially machined to a very high precision that minimizes periodic error. Add the Vixen D2M motor set for accurate and smooth tracking. The Vixen R200SS Telescope is easy to use and functions well for both the visual observer and astrophotographers. Motion is controlled by included control knobs for accurate slewing. The polar altitude adjustment varies from 0° to 62° in altitude.
