Vixen VMC260L 260mm Cassegrain Telescopes Product Info
Vixen VMC260L Telescope and Sphinx SXD Mount outperforms a traditional Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The Vixen VMC260L telescope is a true all purpose telescope. Despite its long focal length, the tube is only about 650mm (20") long. As a result the instrument is very portable. With its large aperture the VMC 260L 260mm telescope collects enough light for serious visual and photographical applications for both planetary and deep sky observing. The large 260mm aperture Catadioptric design consists of two mirrors and and a double meniscus corrector lens design. Light coming from he object is reflected off the primary mirror (f/2.5) and then passes through the corrector in front of the secondary. This design virtually eliminates spherical aberration and field curvature while delivering superb contrast. Focusing is through primary mirror movement. The VMC260L astro telescope by Vixen features Dielectric Coated Mirrors for brighter sharper images. The VMC260L with Mount has very good contrast. It is an excellent telescope for observing globular clusters, double stars and distant planets. With its open tube the telescope cools down quicker than a classical Cassegrain telescope.
