Product Category Description:

Use kits to convert a standard brightfield microscope to a phase contrast microscope. Kits include three phase contrast objectives (10x, 40x, and 100x), a Zernike-type phase contrast turret condenser, a phase centering telescope, and instructions.

The phase contrast condenser has four phase positions and one open position for brightfield use. The phase positions are 10x, 40x, and 100x, plus 25x for planachromatic microscope kits and 20x for achromatic microscope kits. Each phase position of the condenser has a “ring” etched on the glass insert that corresponds with a ring in the matching objective. Condensers include centering screws to center the phase ring in the condenser with the ring in the corresponding objective.

The phase centering telescope is an eyepiece that focuses the user’s vision on the two rings simultaneously, to facilitate centering the condenser ring and improve the performance of the system.
