Replicates microbial colonies for creating differential selection of colonies using antibiotics or metabolite supplements.

Tool is composed of a 10.2cm (4") diameter aluminum ring and a 5.5cm (25/32") high PVC cylinder. Locking ring secures a velveteen square to the cylinder just prior to replica plating. The petri dish carrying the colonies is inverted and lowered onto the velveteen, then lifted. Replication is made by applying fresh nutrient surfaces to the velveteen square with the culture. The tool may be disinfected between uses with a brief rinse in ethanol or chlorine bleach.

Sterile, twill-backed velveteen squares are made of absorbent 100% cotton. Select from black or white velveteen to provide best color contrast with colonies to be replicated. Dimensions: 15.2x15.2cm (6x6").

Ordering Information: One pack of 12 white velveteen squares is included with each replica plating tool. Velveteen squares are packed in a sealed bag with three inner resealable bags each containing 12 squares.
