Bel-Art Spinbar Stirring Bar Teflon PI 371200058 is a strong, reusable stirring bar with a unique shape providing greater surface turbulence and abrasion resistance compared to smooth stirring bars of the same size and shape. The stirbar has a hole in the center, surrounded by a ring of smaller holes, which prevents the bar from becoming embedded in stir solutions. A Teflon coating provides a sterile environment without the hydrogen bonded to carbon that is typical of most stir bars made of a different material. Chemical compatibility allows it to be used with organic solvents, alkalis, and acids/organic solvents, and all organic solvents except hexane. Because Teflon is a non-contaminating material, these stirbars meet FDA regulations governing the release of dilute acids/solvents.
