Meramac 3-person - ALPS Mountaineering Meramac Sage/Rust Tent

This is a product that turned out to be exactly what was advertised. The quality of materials is excellent and the workmanship of manufacture was equally excellent. There have been no problems at all with the design: all of the zippers work perfectly and it is easy to get into and out of either door.

The tent is very simple to set up and perhaps equally important, easy to pack up again: both can be done in just a few minutes. (I have had tents in he past that I sometimes wouldn't use because they were such a pain to pack up after each use: this one is easy and pleasant to pack up).

If this tent is treated well it will last a long, long time. I did find it prudent to use an inexpensive 6 X 8 tarp under the floor and another inside to keep the floor in pristine condition. I usually camp in rough country, not grassy lawns. I bought it for "Jeep camping", to use as a base camp or just to spend a night in at a trail head so I can get an early start on a long day hike. It's perfect for both.

The tent I have is the 3 person version, 6'6" X 7'6" and that is making it very pleasant and comfortable for one or two people with our gear, well worth the small increase in price over the two person tent.
