I have over 30 Leupold scopes and I am impressed with the product. I purchased this 4.4 x 14 - 40mm rifle scope to set on a Remington 700 Classic 8MM Remington Magnum. This is a powerful, flat shooting magnum and I wanted a scope with more magnification for shooting at longer ranges, that is why I chose the 4.5 x 14 magnification range. I chose the 40mm objective scope so it would work with Leupold dual dovetail bases and medium rings without touching barrel. I am very happy with scope and actually own 5 other Leupold 4.5 x 14 scopes in various 40 or 50 mm objectives and different reticules. I have hunted all over North America, including Alaska, and have put Leupold scopes through the "ringer" in regard to various hunts and rough hunting conditions, and never have I had any issue with any of the Leupold scopes I have used on these hunts.
