the BEST tripod for shooting IMO!!
I've handled and owned quite a few tripods for shooting and glassing, from Vanguard, Sirui, Field Research, and now Fatboys. These Fatboys (I own both the Elevate 2 and 3), are very very stout and sturdy! Just looking at it you would think they're super heavy, but they're light at about 6 lbs. What sold me on the Fatboys are the thick 42mm inverted legs, and the smart design. It's got ports on each leg and apex to mount accessories. The cam lever design makes for a very tight fit on the apex as you can pull-out the lever to 'crank' on it. There's so many great things to say about this tri...

Fatboy elevate three tripod
Tripod is very well made. The quarter turn lock for each leg and location are excellent. Making adjustments with the rifle locked in their fat boy ball head makes life very nice.

Buy once, cry once
I narrowed my pick between two-vets, really right stuff, and the fat boy. I honestly don't thick you can wrong with any of them but after careful consideration based on what I am using it for (which is for hunting) , I believe this was the one that fit my purpose best. The weight is right, the stability is outstanding, I actually haven't found its downside. I think if your looking for a quality tripod for hunting the western mountains where you need all angles of shooting possibilities you cant go wrong with the fat boy.

Maybe not as tough as everyone thinks.
Mine broke after 6 uses at the range doing. 1 month old. One of the legs sections fell off completely, exposing how it's made and what's inside. It appeared to me that it was a leg stop of some sort, small thin piece of white plastic. Was not user fixable. It looks and feels incredibly rugged. It's sent back for service now. I may revise depending on what service experience is like. Still though needed service after one month..........

What a Great Tripod
I purchased the FatBoy Elevate Three-Section Tripod. What a great tripod this is. very easy to deploy the legs, that seems almost magical. Also, the tripod is extremely stable to use. I don't think that there is a better tripod made. Very light and easy to carry.
