J Dotson's Review of Foursevens Maelstrom Regen LED Flashlight w/ 150 Lumens

I've been using this light as my primary duty light, and So-Far-So-Good. The most convenient feature of this light is that it is charged via a mini USB port using a wall, car, or computer adapter which I already had for charging my cell phone. I only use this light on it's max setting, which happens to be one of it's many pre-programed options to choose from.

Most of my coworkers are using a rechargeable Streamlight, which is slightly longer and not as bright, and costs 50% more which was again another selling point.

I've looked on youtube and there are reviews on this light, but I didn't see many reviews by LEO's (Law Enforcement Officers) who had carried this light as their primary belt holstered light.

My advise is that if you intend to carry this light as a primary light in the field, then you'll want to throw away the cheap, flimsy, piece of garbage, nylon-n-velcro holder that the company sends with this light, and pick up an awesome Leather SafariLand holder for this light to be carried bezel-up. I bought the Safariland 32 11 35-F 21 holder and it fits like it was made for this light. If your load out is ballistic nylon I'm not sure what to tell you, other than bad choice.(lol!)

All in all, I would highly recomend this product.
Knowing what I know now I would still absolutely buy one of these as my primary duty light.
Pros:
  • Price for the function
  • Rechargeable via Mini USB
  • Size, Weight, Fit-n-Finish
  • Extremely Bright for the Price Point
  • Many Programable Options
Cons:
  • Piece of Garbage Belt Carrier
Best Used for:
  • LEO Primary Duty Light
