Most Helpful Positive Review Airmax 2-7x32 AO Waterproof Rifle Scope
This was my 1st Hawke scope, and so far so good. Needed a scope that can handle the forces of a air rifle, and it has held up so far. Glass is pretty clear. I think I would buy another like it or one of their equivalent offerings if I needed a scope for another air rifle.

Hawk air max 2 to 7 x 32 glass etched adjustable AO

by Hoss, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on December 15, 2024
Seems like a very nice scope glasses clear for the price point adjustment seem good firm AO seems fairly accurate. The AMX radical on this model is non-illuminated and it’s great for daylight target shooting or planking but late evening early morning cloudy days in the woods it can be a bit hard to see, but it’s not a dealbreaker
Pros:
  • Pretty well everything about it is decent for the price point. I got a great warranty.
Cons:
  • The non-illuminated AMX At Tuscan
  • The non-illuminated AMX can be hard to see at low light
Best Used for:
  • General hunting Target

Great scope for my R9

by Nobade, Verified Owner from WV, United States Written on November 24, 2024
My rifle is good at breaking scopes. Tired of that, I decided to try this Hawke, my first. It is holding up well and the rifle is suddenly a lot more accurate. Well worth the price, very recommended.

Great little scope.

by Bikerted, Verified Owner from HI, United States Written on October 24, 2024
First time owning a Hawke Air Max. Got this for my gas piston springer, because it came with a free scope, and I couldn’t get the results I wanted. The Hawke solved that problem. The only thing I didn’t like was how long it took for shipping. I’ve ordered stuff from China that got here a lot quicker.

Target Scope Only

by Terry, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on October 15, 2024
5 stars based on clarity, brightness and cross hair with elevation and windage markings. I returned this scope because it is totally useless for hunting or general field use. The crosshairs are extremely fine and simply disappear when looking into a tree or brushy background. By the time you locate the crosshairs the animal would be long gone. I should have believed the other reviews that pointed this out but I couldn’t believe Hawke would make a scope this limited in usefulness and not label it a target scope. The crosshairs are etched in the glass so an illuminated version would help alleviate the problem. The scope is also very short and the distance between the front bell and rear eyepiece is so short some one piece base/ring mounts can’t be used. This was the case with the Diana Zero Recoil mount I am using. The glass itself was very clear and bright. Note to Hawke Optics: This issue of superfine crosshairs must be a known problem to you. I even talked to a technical representative via telephone before purchasing and this was NOT even mentioned. This scope should labeled as a target scope or,at the very least, the crosshair issue should be prominently mentioned.
Pros:
  • Good Clear Optics, Nice TARGET crosshairs
Cons:
  • Crosshairs Too Fine for Anythig but Target Use.
  • Extremely Fine Crosshairs. Target Use Only. Very Short Mounting Area Limits Ring/Base Selection
Best Used for:
  • TARGET ONLY, NOT SUITABLE FOR HUNTING

Target Scope Only

by Terry, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on October 9, 2024
My rating is based on clarity and brightness. I did not mount the scope because it did not fit the Diana Zero Recoil Scope Base and Rings. Scope is very short between the front bell and the rear eyepiece. It barely fit a UTG one piece base and rings. If you plan on using a one piece base and ring mounting system be sure you check the dimensions of your base/rings to make sure this scope will fit. Any substantial adjustment for eye relief will have to made by sliding the base since there is such little room between the rings and the front bell/rear eyepiece. I would not have kept this scope even if it had fit the mount because the crosshairs are extremely fine. It would be fine for TARGET USE ONLY in good light. Looking upwards into a tree as if squirrel hunting the crosshairs virtually disappear against a dark background of limbs and tree trunk. I am a lifetime hunter and this scope is useless for hunting. This feature should be prominently addressed in the product description as should the limited mounting options. This is not a fault of the scope but it is a rather unique feature. I have worked in gun shops off and on for a good part of my adult life and have never seen crosshairs any finer than these. The crosshairs are etched into the glass and I supposed this accounts for the extremely fine size. If the crosshairs were illuminated this might improve things significantly as far as being able to actually see them. Scope should be described as a target scope. I often read t...

Hawke Airmax scope

by Kenny, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on April 6, 2024
This is an above average scope. It costs double what I normally spend on an air gun scope. I mounted it on my airgun and made all the adjustments and it shoots great. It is the brand of scope that the experts recommend. It’s better to have great equipment than to buy lesser equipment and wish that it was better, a bonus is that I got it at the best price after looking around for the best price. I have ordered other items from this company and have never been disappointed. The only negative to this comment is that the US post office took forever to deliver it. As I tracked it , I live near Pittsburgh, and it was delivered to New Jersey, and then came back to Pittsburgh, roughly 600 miles out of its way. At least, in the end, it was delivered.
Pros:
  • Great clarity , and great quality
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target / Hunting
