Most Helpful Positive Review dot to small
I am using it on my xdm 9mm. It works great, but dot is small and it is hard to see in day light. It appear to be due to the small green dot. I have a aimshot green laser and the dot is bigger and it is easier to see in the day light. Pros: can see it very far, also fits my xdm 9mm 5.25 Cons: dot to ...

Most Helpful Negative Review This was the biggest disappointment ever UTG laser is total JUNK
The packaging was very shoddy which may have contributed to the laser not ever holding zero. I set it up and all looked great, then went and tried to sight it in and after every shot the dot was in a different place. I'm very upset since I have been waiting to purchase one for two months and finally...

Can't ask for more...

by dustydog, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on February 22, 2021
I have three of these now, two in the Gen 2 Light/Laser combo, and one laser-only, and in the market for another combo as soon as they go "on sale" again : )

No known issues with any of them yet; UTG just seems to have a great design team, and the one time I e-mailed UTG support with a general question before purchasing the first of these (one of the combos), I quickly got a response from one of their engineers who fully addressed the question. Over the years, many times I've ended up with a UTG product that fit the bill perfectly after LOTS of research. Now, I'll often check their offerings FIRST.

Note that these units don't have a click-detent on the adjustment screws, but sometimes that seems preferable. I've not detected any tendency to lose zero, and, if you're careful, you may be able to make adjustments in smaller increments than you could with coarse clicks.

After making your major adjustments, just be careful not to disturb the setting while inserting the L-wrench (a FEATHER-TOUCH is important for fine adjustments!), insert the SHORT end into the adjusting screw, take out the slack between the screw and the wrench, again without disturbing the current setting YET, then CAREFULLY tweak the screw while watching the long arm of the L-wrench to judge the number of degrees you want to move for your final settings. You can easily judge 1/60th of a turn this way.

Another note with these and other lasers, where some users (including myself) have noticed that sometimes th...

Nice and Compact

by Phill, from GA, United States Written on August 9, 2018
This green laser is so cool looking! I love how slim and compact it is. You don't have to take the mount off to get the laser out either. I also cant believe how far this laser shoots. With the wind/elav. adj. screws its really easy dial the laser in.

nice laser sight for the money

by tnt77, from CA, United States Written on May 23, 2018
decent sight, great visibility during day or night. the mount used could be better as there is no set screw to secure it to a rail system other than just tension. pressure switch was ok. tail cap button has positive push.

Leapers UTG Compact Tactical Green Laser Sight w/ Mounting Ring

by Jerry, from IA, United States Written on November 18, 2016
SWEET! Mounted this on my S&W Victory in front of my Holosun red dot. Works great, is small enough that it doesn't interfere with the red dot. Have the red dot sighted at about 25 yds and the green laser sighted at 10 yds. Works flawlessly and would highly recommend the Leapers. It has a very bright laser.

Leapers UTG Compact Tactical Green Laser Sight w/ Mounting Ring

by brent, from TX, United States Written on December 17, 2014
I have 3 guns with 3 green lasers all the same size. The utg has the smallest beam at 100 yards of all of them. As for the mount it will move a little if pressure is applied but moves right back when released. I have this mounted on a 7.62x39 AR and haven't had any problem with it holding zero. For the price I would buy it again. On a side note you can see it at 100 yards on a cloudy day. Its hard but you can see it. If hunting in the woods or under cover on a sunny day you'll be just fine.
Pros:
  • Function
  • cost, quality
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Nighttime shooting

Green Laser

by Eloy, from TX, United States Written on August 26, 2014
I purchased this green laser from Optics Planet for my GMMC AR in 5.56 with a 16" bull barrel. I sighted the laser at 100 yds. Hunted varmints at night especially song dogs (Coyotes) works really great. The light is very bright. No problems thus far.
Pros:
  • Excellent quality and value
Cons:
  • None

Could be better

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on March 11, 2013
I like the small dot for presision work like varmints but unusable in full sun. No functional issues with my unit and easy to adjust for sight in. The Nc Star Pistol and Rifle laser is far better and less money.
Pros: 2 screw adjusting solid mount included presure switch
Cons: low power very faint dot in daylight

Defective

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on September 3, 2012
Great looking laser. Exactly what i was wanting except for the fact that it's defective. When activated the laser emits for a second and stops working. It's not the battery. Not the rear pressure switch and not the pressure pad. So, it's the actual laser that's defective. Now I have to fool with the long return process. Not what I was planning on spending my time on!
Pros: great item on paper, but (see con)
Cons: DOES NOT WORK
