I am 5'10 205 regular crossfit member so my build is athletic with a little bit more stomach than I would like but my measurements are 44.5 chest and 34 waist. I choose the Nordwand in black in a size XL and the fit was perfect. It is a bit baggy which accommodates layers well. A large may have fit but I feel it would have been tight and may not have fit layers well, think of Randy on Christmas story. I can wear a tshirt, Berghaus hydroloft activity jacket and Nordwand and feel very comfortable space and temp wise. The arms feel loose, not big or small, however the sleeve is a bit long but can easily be held back with the wrist straps. This will serve many purposes for me so I like the extra pockets vs a minimalist design for climbing.
Jacket looks like super classy. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this jacket and will always put Mammut on my short list for top quality gear. The extra 10% helped pricewise and for less than half the list price this is an outstanding buy for a year or two old model.
