GeneralKenobiWins's Review of Primary Arms Classic 24mm Mini Reflex Dot Sight

I was hesitant to try this since the first review gave a 1 star. I have experienced none of the issues that user mentioned and also the loctite the red dot comes with is not "ghetto" it is a pouch of vibra-tite which is much more expensive and a fantastic option compared to your standard blue loctite. It holds the screws at what you torque them to. I torqued mine to 10 in/lbs and that seems to work very well. The dot is very crisp and not a blur or oval as I've seen with other dots (i do not have an astigmatism, but not all dots emitters create a nice-looking dot). This red dot comes with all you could need to install it and a nice 2032 Toshiba battery, not a garbage 2032 battery you'll typically see with budget optics. The button clicks are defined and easy to get to. I am very pleased by the glass clarity and has less distortion around the edges than the RMR I had. Yes, the adjustments don't have a detent to create clicks with an adjustment, but it's pretty easy to adjust for zero even without clicks. The battery is bottom mounted, but I do not mind since battery life is claimed to be 41,000 hours at the medium setting in the manual meaning I can get a few years out of each battery before needing to swap it and the medium setting and 1 click above are plenty bright for most daylight settings unless you're aiming directly into the sun. Overall, I'd say this is the best RMR footprint dot in this price point and even more value if you get it on a sale which is regular on Optics Planet amd Primary Arms.
Pros:
  • clear glass
  • long battery life
  • budget friendly
  • Crisp Dot
  • bright red dot
Cons:
  • lack of adjustment detent
Best Used for:
  • concealed carry
  • target practice
  • offset red dot
