I have many Wilson silicone cloths as I use them to wrap any gun that goes into my safe. My safe has a 2 1/2 hour fire rating and I know any safe will give off fumes that can destroy and rust firearms, especially if not cased and they are left with bare metal exposed. I have seen safes that were in a fire and this is a fact, just ask anyone who has seen a safe destroyed by a home fire. A plastic bag to rap the gun is fine as long as the plastic will not be melted on the gun which is why I use a Wilson silicone cloth. It will also prevent rust from forming even if there is no fire.
