Most Helpful Positive Review More reliable than the Leupold Mark IV!
As a former military sniper, I would have rather had this scope mounted on my M24 system than the Leupold Mark IV I was stuck with. This scope is far more user friendly and not a fixed magnification so you can really dial in a pretty picture on your target. The best part is that because of the price...

Most Helpful Negative Review Really Nice Optics for the Money
I was at a gun show and saw the Osprey line of scopes. The glass looks really clear--they use Hoya glass which is the same as Nikon. When I found a special sale price at Optics Planet for about half the price at the local gun show I went for the Osprey signature scope. The optics are really great...

the scope

by jr hookere, from OK, United States Written on August 29, 2014
I bought it for my Mosin Nagant that I built on an archangel stock with a bipod and a muzzle brake thats worthless but the scop is letting me group out of a 10 round shoy grouping at 200 yards of about 6 inches. as before I had a good older tasco scope but the shock of the gun was enough that after 40 rounds I would have to re zero .
Pros:
  • very nice for the money
Cons:
  • wish I had bought 2 as I just bought a Millet for $495.00, much berret zoom but about the same in all the rest
Best Used for:
  • 308 and down

osprey scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on February 1, 2014
Bought one from Gold Mountain Outfitters at a show in Paso Robles, the one on display looked good but the one I got from under the counter was bad when I got it home. After mounting and getting the cross hairs level the turrets were so far off from being level it was idiotic.Of course the outfitter would not replace it so I spent another $22 shippint it to Osprey.I had communication with them a couple times then heard nothing so I bought a Millet scope and its great. Its been about a month and a half now and apperantly a new scope is on its way. I asked what happened to the first one but have not heard a reply again. The owner of the outfitters may have pushed Osprey so who knows how long it would have been. The owner of the outfitters said she would make it right by a choice of something from her store but she has not contacted me lately either. Buy a Millet
Pros: looks
Cons: bad worksmanship

Great Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on February 8, 2011
This scope is great, it is strong and accurate. I have used it all the way out to 1000 yards and the scope is more than capable for any long distance shooting. I still have good eyes so I don't need anything more than 16X right now but I'm sure there will come a day when I need to step it up to the 20's.
Pros: Side focus works great, large turrets for easy adjustments.
Cons: turret screws tend to loosen, moa turrets on a mil-dot scope

AWESOME DEAL

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on January 27, 2011
Im a Marine Scout Sniper, and compared the the scopes we use "schmidt and Bender 8541" its pretty close, but about $3000 cheaper. compared to the Leupold Mk 4, its as good if not better, and $900 cheaper. and you are not so worried about your scope that you are afraid to use it!
Pros: Every thing a rifleman needs!
Cons: turrets could be improved a little and it needs shorter mounts

All show & No go!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on May 24, 2010
I was sent a confirmation the day I ordered my scope saying it had shipped. Called two weeks later when it failed to arrive and was told it had not shipped, was told it would be two more weeks for delivery. Called after those two weeks and was told it would be two more weeks! I can't help but wonder if this company is someone working out of thier mothers house on the computer in thier bedroom. This company takes orders and then places orders with the actual manufacturer. This company probably carries no stock at all ( this company lists items on sale but has nothing to ship you, how can that be? If its on sale, one would conclude its sitting there, ready to ship !!!) False hopes and excuses is all this company has to offer.
Pros: Good price
Cons: Ordered four weeks ago, has not arrived yet !!!
