Yes, they are threaded on top so they should be stackable.

are these filters coated glass, or color all through the glass?

From my experience these are color all through the glass. Both sides are the same color and it seems to be a schot glass material. the same quality as orion and meade but, with a better price tag and not a relable like celestron and orion.

Product Info for Cassini 13-piece Astronomical Telescope Filter Set

These filters are threaded to fit standard 1.25-inch eyepieces and the Cassini Four (4) Slot Filter Wheel. The astronomical filters generally work by blocking a specific part of the color spectrum making the object more visible or defined. Filters can be used to increase contrast and enhance the details of the Moon and planets. Each of the 13 filters comes with it's own plastic storage case. The filer numbers that are included in this set are #8 light yellow, #11 yellow-green, #12 yellow, #21 orange, #23A light red, #25A red, #38A dark blue, #47 violet, #56 light green, #58 green, #80A blue and #82A light blue.image
